10 Lines on Cleanliness: “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” goes a famous saying. Keeping our homes, environments and surroundings clean helps us lead healthy lives. It gives us an aesthetic sense coupled with morality and well being. Tidy places are germ-free spaces, and they look good aesthetically too. We have to ensure the cleanliness of our mind, body, and souls and keep our living areas hygienic. We should keep our surroundings clean and tidy by participating in community activities like cleaning roads, planting more trees and spreading awareness against littering and throwing garbage.

Ten Lines on Cleanliness

Below we have provided ten lines on Cleanliness in English, written in easy and simple words for class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 students.

Set 1

  1. Cultivating good habits of keeping our surroundings and living places clean and organised is referred to as ‘cleanliness’.
  2. A tidy residence is generally germ-free, helping us to stay away from diseases and illness.
  3. We have to regularly remove dirt and dust particles from our homes by dusting, sweeping and mopping our living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms to maintain hygiene.
  4. We must practise cleanliness in our everyday life to keep ourselves healthy, fresh and good looking.
  5. Brushing our teeth, taking a bath, combing our hair, cutting nails regularly, wearing clean dresses and shoes are some of the good habits we must practise regularly to stay fit and clean.
  6. Unhygienic places act as a breeding ground for mosquitoes and flies and attract dirt from various other sources, causing infections and diseases in humans.
  7. A clean and hygienic environment is essential for a person’s overall positive outlook and to build a positive state of mind in a healthy state.
  8. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken significant initiatives through the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to make our cities cleaner and greener.
  9. Unclean and unhygienic places cause a lot of deadly diseases like cholera, jaundice, scabies etc.
  10. Drinking water and food we eat should be kept in a clean place to prevent contamination of germs and maintain good hygiene.

Set 2

  1. It is our primary duty and sole responsibility as citizens to keep our surroundings clean, hygienic and prevent diseases amongst ourselves.
  2. Young, school-going children should be taught to clean their hands thoroughly before and after having a meal to avoid unwanted germs from entering their body.
  3. We should always cook our food in a place that has been cleaned and considered fit for preparing and storing food.
  4. Toilets should be well maintained with proper and sufficient availability of water at all times.
  5. Public places like markets, banks, temples and other areas should be kept clean and avoid transmission of germs from one person to another.
  6. The air we breathe must be fresh and clean, and concrete steps must be taken to reduce air pollution like burning of fossil fuels, smoke from chimneys of factories and vehicular emissions.
  7. Water resources like rivers, oceans, lakes and ponds must be cleanly maintained as they provide drinking water supplies to all the households after proper scientific treatment.
  8. The holy text Bhagavad Gita stresses on the need to maintain clean and pure surroundings, reflecting directly on clear and transparent soul.
  9. We can help the authorities to keep our localities clean by segregating household wastes into wet waste, dry waste and sanitary wastes.
  10. A pure environmental set up promotes clean surroundings, hygienic living conditions and healthy lifestyles for people ensuring longevity and well being.

Set 3

  1. Cleanliness and purity of our body, mind, soul and our surrounding environment are considered holy and divine.
  2. Living a clean and hygienic life helps us to lead a disease-free life and allows us to be more positive and motivated towards life.
  3. We can keep our houses clean and prevent dust mites, flies, mosquitoes, lizards and spider webs from occupying spaces in our spaces.
  4. We can keep our local areas and communities in perfect shape by planting more trees, keeping our immediate surroundings clean and tidy, teaching children not to litter household spaces and being more proactive in living life hygienically.
  5. Dirty roads and garbage-filled trenches are a sign of negligence and carelessness; we should be more responsible towards our society by keeping our streets and public places clean.
  6. A lot of people urinate in public places which cause disease transmission and spreads infection from one person to the other; people should be discouraged and educated about acceptable practices.
  7. We have to take care of our monuments and heritage buildings by keeping them clean and maintaining their beauty and not littering them with eatables, plastic bottles and other garbage.
  8. Children should be taught personal hygiene as part of their curriculum, and they should be well-groomed and taught to be more responsible for a cleaner society.
  9. Kitchens and toilets should be the most uncluttered spaces in our homes as they invite a lot of cockroaches, breeding germs, and they can directly enter our intestines to cause severe infections.
  10. Five most essential practices to be followed for a clean lifestyle and healthy well being are – preventing contamination, reducing pollution, frequently cleaning our surroundings, proper waste management practices and recycling of waste products into usable resources.
