Essay on A Visit to a Circus
A circus is a fun place for all age groups. From children to elders, everyone gets entertained here. The circus is a common ground where you can find a lot of interesting things. Not only do you see acrobatics, but you also witness the workmanship of the skilled men and animals.
Whenever I see an advertisement in the newspaper regarding an upcoming circus, I get excited. It’s a place I love to visit. There have been numerous circus shows I have been to. However, my first circus experience has always been a memorable one.
My First Visit to a Circus
We live in a town where circus shows get organized once in every five to six years. When I was six years old, my friends at school talked about an ongoing circus. On my way home, I was excited to share this information with my family. Later that evening, my dad bought us the tickets for the show.
Even though I had heard a lot about the circus, I had never been to one before. This was going to be my first experience. And I wondered what kind of a show it would be. The circus party was called the Vivian Circus. It was located at the far-stretched Nehru Maidan.
This show had been running for a week now. And it was known to gather a lot of crowds. As soon as we stepped onto the ground, I was amazed at its sight. The place looked like a wonderland. There was a huge tent in the middle, and it was decorated with beautiful tube lights.
Inside the tent, there were circular rows filled with benches and chairs. We went and sat in the front row. The entire time, I was anxiously waiting for the show to begin. Finally, it started at 8 p.m., and everything went silent for a second. At first, a band started to play. Then a group of gymnasts started showing their physical feats.
Meanwhile, many strange acts were presented. For the first time, I saw a monkey ride a bicycle. An elephant came and played football. The tiger jumped across a ring of fire. There were some thrilling performances as well. A man walked on the rope, and a girl climbed on a ladder without support.
There was a well of death where dangerous stunts were performed by the motor-cyclists. Their act left us all spellbound. Then there were clowns in their funny costumes. The entire evening was filled with multiple shows, and it left me truly amazed.
People were cheering from their seats. The show at Vivian Circus ended at 11 p.m. It was a spectacular show. There were moments when I was scared. But soon my fears would turn into joy and excitement. By the time we reached home, it was pretty late. I was happy, and I thanked my dad for taking me to the circus.
Visiting the circus has always been an enriching experience. These shows are meant to amuse us. However, they also teach us a lot of things. We learn that animals can be as intelligent and skilled as men. And that they both can be trained to the point of perfection. We must appreciate their hard work. After all, a visit to the circus is always worth it.
