Aikyashree Scholarship 2021: The West Bengal government offers scholarships to students both at the state and central levels. They are mainly given out to society’s downtrodden sections who find it difficult to afford quality education due to financial constraints. The WB state government and many of its co-working entities like the Department of Backward Classes, Directorate of Higher Education and Minority Welfare have brought together many schemes that can be utilized for the benefit of poor students. Below we have provided detail information about the WBMDFC Scholarship 2021, including the last date to apply, eligibility criteria, online application process, documents required, application status, rewards, and the complete list of scholarship.

Aikyashree Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The following table provides comprehensive details regarding the eligibility criteria to be followed by candidates. Candidates need to check against each condition and only then resort to apply for them:

Swami Vivekananda scholarship for minorities
  • For students pursuing class 11 and higher studies
  • Only for minority students of West Bengal
  • Candidate should have a minimum score of 75% in class 10th
  • If applying at the undergraduate level, a candidate must have min. a score of 75% at 12th standard
  • If applying at post-graduation level, min. 53% is required at the graduate level
  • If applying at post-graduation level, min. 55% is required for engineering students
  • Annual family income to be less than INR 2.5 lakhs
Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti scholarship
  • Only for female candidates domiciled in West Bengal
  • Candidate should have cleared class 12
  • Candidate should be currently pursuing undergraduate programs in any of the streams like science/ engineering/ medicine/etc
  • Candidate should be studying in an institute in West Bengal state only
Post-matric scholarship for SC/ST/OBC
  • Students studying in class 11 till post-graduation can apply
  • For SC/ST annual family income to be between INR 2 to 2.5 lakhs
  • For OBC, annual family income to be less than INR 1 lakh
Pre-matric scholarship for SC/ST
  • Students studying in class 9th and 10th may apply
  • Annual family income to be less than INR 2 lakhs
Hindi Scholarship Scheme
  • Only for candidates who are from a state with a non-Hindi background
  • Student must be currently domiciled in West Bengal only.
  • For students studying in higher secondary classes/ undergraduate courses/ post-graduate courses/ Mphil/ PhD/ M.Lit/ other research-level courses etc
  • Candidates should have cleared either Madhyamik/ higher secondary education/ graduation/ post-graduation
  • Min. score to be attained by the candidate in his qualifying exam is 60%.
  • Hindi should mandatorily be one of his study subjects.

The application process is explained in two sections. The first table indicates the portal that students need to go to, to access the application form and complete the formalities. The second section explains the step wise procedure to apply for them.

Aikyashree Scholarship Application Process

  • Registration – Candidates can register themselves by visiting the official portal [wbmdfcscholarship.gov.in]. Here they need to click on the new registration tab and provide basic candidate details. After entering data, they can click on SUBMIT.
  • In the next section, candidates need to enter educational details like educational institution name, address, score obtained in the qualifying exam, etc. Click on SUBMIT.
  • Once candidates submit the basic minimum details, they will receive a temporary user ID and password. Hence the candidate is registered in the portal.
  • Login using the registered credentials. Go to the section titled ‘Basic and academic information’. You also need to provide bank account information.
  • Check for correctness of all details thus entered.
  • SUBMIT the application form.
  • Take a hard copy print out of the submitted application form. Attach hard copies of all documents required along with the application form. Submit these to the head of the educational institution for further processing.

List of Documents Required for Aikyashree Scholarship

This section explains all the documents needed to be attached along with the hard copy of application form. Attestation on all documents is mandatory.

  • Recent passport size photo of the candidate
  • Caste certificate
  • Income certificate
  • Domicile certificate
  • Aadhaar card
  • Minority certificate
  • Disability certificate [ wherever applicable]
  • Previous year marks cards
  • Fee receipts issued by an educational institution for the current year
  • Bank passbook and other bank documents
  • Bonafide letter from an educational institution

Aikyashree Scholarship Rewards

This section indicates all the necessary benefits offered by this scholarship to selected students. The monetary reward is provided to the beneficiary by following an efficient method of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
