Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is an exceptional personality. He is a great example for Indian people who fetched results from his hard efforts throughout his life. His consecutive contribution towards India made him a well-known personality worldwide.
He was a great scientist who became 11th President of India and served his country profoundly. He had engraved its name among the prominent scientists of the 21st century. His contribution to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is unmatchable. He also contributed to the development of Prithvi and Agni missiles.
He was also known as “Missile Man of India”, being thorough involved in the Nuclear power in India. As of his comprehensive contribution to the society and India, he was awarded the highest civilian award.
Early Life of APJ Abdul Kalam
APJ Abdul Kalam was born in the southern state of India, Tamil Nadu. Being born into a low-income family, he started earning at an early age. However, he had immense love for education, that’s why, he never gave up his school, regardless of his working. During his job, he supported his family, concurrently he completed his graduation as well.
His father Jainulabiddin Marakayar was working as a boat owner and iman at a local mosque while his mother Ashiamma Jainulabiddin was a homemaker. He had one sister and three brothers. Since childhood, he had a dream to fly high. All this led him to pursue Aerospace Engineering.
Abdul Kalam had studied B.Sc. Then he joined Madras Institute of Technology to pursue Aeronautical Engineering where he attained scholarship.
In the year 1958, he joined the Directorate of Technical Development and Production in Minister of Defense. He also got fame in S.L.V.-3 the project conducted at the Indian Space and Research Organization.
He had a determination and thorough planning to make India a highly developed, rich, and reliable country. His efforts and selfless services made him able to support and raise the globe over all the world. He achieved many milestones in his life. He had significant contributions for India during his entire life.
He was the man who was able to program the nuclear weaponization. At the orthopaedic centre in the Nizam Institute of Medical Science in Hyderabad, he was successful in making of lightweight calipers for children. Besides, his contribution in term of the nuclear test made him immensely proud.
He became the President of India in the year 2002. During his presidency era, India had earned many milestones that were not possible without him. He is a man of open heart that is why he is also famous as “People’s President”. The Indian people have great respect for him. Even, children know about his bravery and contribution towards India.

Death of APJ Abdul Kalam
Due to a sudden cardiac arrest in 2015, he died. At the time, he was with his students in Shillong. His curiosity in engineering and science have no boundaries. He was a unique engineer and scientist. He had always been serving India, even during his death, he was sharing his knowledge with students. He had the vision to make India a powerful and developed nation.
To honour him, the government of India had created an award with a name DR. APJ ABDUL KALAM AWARD that is only awarded to those people who have excelled in the field of science and technology and also promoting the youth to serve India and humanity.
APJ Abdul Kalam was a unique personality. Indeed, India will get a superhero like him. He is a perfect example of diligence, discipline, hard work, and patience. He dedicated his whole life towards the development of India. The Indian youth must follow his footsteps to serve India. Parents should teach their children to follow his contributions to their nation.
Moreover, on 29th August 2015, on the request of Maheish Girri (who is a BJP member), Aurangzeb Road was renamed to Dr APJ Adbul Kalam Road by NDMC to mark his strengths and also motivation for Indians.
