CLAT Exam Pattern 2021 can be accessed by the appearing candidates through the website’s online mode. The exam pattern displays the marking scheme, question type, no. of questions, syllabus, etc. Common Law Admission Test known as CLAT is an All India level entrance test administered by the Consortium of National Law Universities. Candidates are assessed through this exam, and those qualifying shall be offered admission into various UG courses in law and Masters of Law programme. CLAT Score Card shall be approved and accepted by various private law colleges and affiliated government colleges across the country. CLAT Exam is scheduled to be handled via online mode on 9th May 2021. In the following sections, the CLAT exam pattern for UG & PG programmes are enlisted sequentially:
CLAT Under Graduate (UG) Exam Pattern
- The exam duration to solve the paper is two hours.
- A total of 150 questions shall be present in the paper.
- The questions present in the paper are of objective type (multiple choice questions).
- The question paper medium is English.
- 1 mark is assigned for each question.
- A negative mark of 0.25 shall be reduced for the wrong answer.

- The questions present in the paper are of objective and descriptive type.
- The question paper medium is English.
- 1 mark is assigned for each question.
- A negative mark of 0.25 shall be reduced for the wrong answer.

CLAT Syllabus 2021
- Any specific CLAT 2021 syllabus is not framed by the authority.
- The questions for the UG programme entrance test shall be taken from English including Comprehension, General Knowledge, Mathematics (taught up to 10th class), Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning sections.
- The questions for PG programme entrance test shall be taken from Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and other law subjects such as Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, Environment Law and Human Rights topics.
- It is advised for the appearing candidates to refer to the previous year questions and model papers available in online platforms for preparation. It provides an idea about the question paper model and also helps the candidates to know the difficulty level of the questions.
- Candidates are suggested to allocate sufficient time to sleep and not to compromise on their sleep schedule.
