CLAT 2021: The full form of CLAT is Common Law Admission Test. It is conducted by 19 National Law Universities (NLU’s) of India alternatively. CLAT 2021 Application Form
The important details regarding CLAT 2021 application form are given below:
- Candidates can access the application form in the first week of January 2021.
- Candidates can apply till last week of March 2021 via online mode.
- Candidates must ensure that the email id, phone number provided in the application form is valid.
- The photograph and signature must be uploaded in the mentioned format.
- A certain time period will be allocated to make any changes in the application form.
- Candidates must have the hard copy of the application form handy for future references.
Application Fee
- Payment for the application fee can be made via credit/debit card.
- The application fee for General/ OBC/ PwD/ SAP category candidates is Rs 4000
- The application fee for SC/ ST category candidates is Rs. 3000.
CLAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria
CLAT eligibility criteria are listed below
UG Law Programme
- Candidates must have cleared 12th examination irrespective of the type of board. The minimum aggregate score required to qualify for general /OBC category candidates is 45% and 40 % for SC/ST candidates.
- Candidates currently pursuing the qualifying examination can also appear in the examination provided the evidence are shown.
PG Law Programme
- Candidates must have cleared LLB or any other qualifying examination with a minimum aggregate score of 55% for general category candidates and 50% for reserved candidates.
- Candidates currently pursuing the qualifying examination can also appear in the examination provided the evidence are shown.
CLAT 2021 Exam Pattern
Details regarding CLAT 2021 exam pattern are briefed below:
- CLAT 2021 examination shall be conducted in online mode.
- The UG examination contains 120-150 Multiple choice questions, and the PG examination contains 150
- Multiple choice Questions in English medium.
- Duration of the examination is 2 hours.
- 1 mark is allotted for every correct answer and for every wrong answer 0.25 mark is reduced.

CLAT 2021 Syllabus
CLAT Syllabus contains six sections – English (including comprehension), General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Mathematics, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. Candidates can refer to the information brochure to know the complete syllabus. Few topics covering under each section is given below:
- English (including comprehension): Reading comprehension and answering accordingly, word meaning, fill in the blanks.
- General Knowledge & Current Affairs: Static general knowledge questions & current affairs, National & international current affairs etc. will be asked.
- Mathematics: Elementary mathematics questions will be asked.
- Legal Aptitude: Study of law, research aptitude questions, and problem-solving questions will be asked.
- Logical Reasoning: Logical reasoning questions such as syllogism, logical sequences or analogies, etc. will be asked.
CLAT 2021 Preparation Tips

CLAT 2021 Admit Card
Admit card can be downloaded through online mode in the third week of April 2021. Login credentials are essential to download the admit card. Admit card is a must on the examination day. The admit card includes details such as Candidate Name, Roll no, Examination timing, Time for candidates to assemble in the examination hall, and other important instructions. Candidates must adhere to the given instructions.
CLAT 2021 Answer Key
NLUO Cuttack will release CLAT 2021 Answer key in the 2nd week of May 2021 through online mode in the website. Candidates can calculate their approximate mark using the answer key. The answers to all the questions will be provided.
CLAT 2021 Result
Candidates can expect the results in the last week of May 2021. Candidates are required to enter their roll number and name to get the result. The result will include Candidate Name, Roll number, marks in each subject, total mark, percentage of marks, result status (pass or fail).
CLAT 2021 Cut Off
After the result announcement, CLAT 2021 cut off will be published. Depending on the number of candidates, aggregate score of the candidates, difficulty level of examination, cut off is decided. Minimum cut off mark is necessary to fetch admission. Candidates fitting the cut off criteria are only to eligible to attend the counselling.
CLAT 2021 Counselling
The counselling process will start commencing in the 1st week of June, post result and cut off declaration. Availability of seats, ranks, and category are taken into consideration for seat allotment. The eligible candidates are expected to pay Rs 50000 to participate in the counselling process. Participation is mandatory for all category candidates. After fee payment and verification of documents procedure, admission will be granted.
