CLAT Syllabus 2021 consists of various English, Mathematics, General Knowledge, Reasoning, etc. CLAT stands for Common Law Admission Test. It is a national level examination conducted every year. It is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities for providing admissions into undergraduate and postgraduate law degree programmes. Qualified candidates will be allotted seats into various government and private law colleges across India. The selection of the student will be based on the CLAT scores. A large number of students apply for the CLAT exam annually. In this given article, candidates can check the complete detail regarding the CLAT Syllabus 2021.

CLAT Syllabus 2021

All students who have applied and are going to attend the examination must be aware of all the syllabus topics. The CLAT syllabus 2021 contains topics from five subjects, and they are given below.

English Language

  • English Vocabulary: Includes topics like Antonyms, Synonyms and Analogies.
  • English Proficiency: The questions asked will be from Idioms and Phrases, One Word Substitution, Sentence Improvement, Rearrangement of Sentence in Paragraph, Rearrangement of Words in Sentence, Fill in the blanks and Cloze Tests.
  • English Usage Errors: Includes Common Errors, Spotting Errors, Inappropriate Usage of Words and Spelling Mistakes (English Usage), Use of Correct Word.
  • English Comprehension: In this section, a particular paragraph will be provided, and candidates must comprehend and understand the paragraph and answer the question based on it correctly.

General Knowledge and Current Affairs

  • Includes topics on Events of National and International importance also covering current events in economics, Science, Technology, Sports, Persons and Places, Static GK & Latest Happening, Books and Authors.

Mathematics

  • Arithmetic (Number Theory): Involves Number Systems, Surds and Indices, Square Roots, Fractions and Decimals, HCF and LCM, Simplification, Approximations, Ratio and Proportion, Average and Logarithms.
  • Commercial Maths: Includes Interest, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Partnership and Discounts.
  • Mensuration: Questions from Areas and Volumes will be asked.

Legal Aptitude

  • This section contains questions to assess the candidate’s interest in law, research aptitude and problem-solving skills. Questions asked from this section will involve problems on legal propositions and set of facts satisfying the proposals.
  • Such propositions will be accurate or false, candidates have to assume them and answer the questions correctly.
  • Some major topics that will be asked are International Law, Criminal Law, Indian Constitution, Legal Terms, Legal Maxims, Family Law, Contracts and Torts.

Logical Reasoning

  • Reasoning Tests: Includes Direction and Distance Test, Analogy Test, Classification (Odd Man Out) Test, Coding-Decoding Test, Number Test, Series Test, Relationships Test, Alphabet Ranking Tests and Time Sequence Test.
  • Logic Tests: Involves Statements, Assumptions, Statements Arguments, Statements, Conclusions and Statements Action.

CLAT Exam Pattern 2021

Below are the exam pattern for CLAT 2021 examination for candidates to go through.

  • Exam Duration: Candidates will get a total of two hours to complete the exam.
  • Type of Questions: The question paper will contain multiple choice-based questions.
  • Language: The questions paper will be asked in the English language.
  • Marking Scheme: Candidates will be given one mark for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

  • Schedule a time table and study accordingly.

  • Revision is the ultimate key. Revise regularly.
  • Follow a healthy diet and exercise. Indulge in physical activity daily at least for 30 minutes.
