Young teenagers make good friends, decide their career paths, become motivated to serve society and take on leadership roles during this phase. It is a good period of learning blended with space for one’s cultural growth and interests. It is a mixed phase of learning, fostering one’s future and enjoying with friends and pals. It shapes a person’s future and broadens one’s horizons.

College is a paradise for students’ academic career. It provides a panorama of fun, enjoyment, relationships with friends and teachers, and beautiful memories. Student’s fancy the pleasures of college life and cherish every moment they spend with friends and teachers. It is a new doorstep after passing out from school and a platform to become more mature and understanding than in school. Some people don’t go to college but live there. And sometimes it feels that they never left that place because of the memories that left a lasting impression in their life.

Every student pictures a college life to consist of parties and laid-back lifestyle. But the reality is far from what they imagine as it is entirely different. It is a transition from caterpillar to pupa stage where we are trained to soar high and take off like a fully grown butterfly. There are places on campus which offer lifelong lessons. Canteen is the place where taste buds get tantalised by a wide variety of food like North-Indian, South-Indian, Chinese and more.

The aroma and the sight give a delectable delight and person feels satiated throughout the day. It is also termed as ‘Adda’ where actual gossip, note sharing, making new friends happen. The canteen bhaiya becomes familiar with their choices, likes and dislikes. Girls, boys, professors, staff, etc. all converge to get their share of food. The local eating joints outside the campus become inseparable memory because of the taste that lingers on the tongue forever.

The classroom is the area where everybody is introduced and gets acquainted with the teachers and fellow students. The benches get a makeover with drawings and names scribbled on it. Everybody has a favourite seat, row, and a person to sit next to. Group discussions, debates, projects, new discoveries-all become a valuable part of the classroom. Next place called exam hall is the most intimidating of all. It is also referred to as the dungeon.

Fear looms over, eerie sound and the dreadful silence etc. haunt students till the exams are over. The time seems to run slow during exams and invigilator looks like a monster who gawks at every student with a grim expression. The entire atmosphere is filled with creepy vibes. Students eagerly wait for the sound of the bell, which provides a sigh of relief and a breathing space to rush out of the classroom as fast as possible.

Later, the feeling of uneasiness runs through the body while waiting for the results. Each one wears blinkers to maintain their focus on marks and performance. Finally, once they are out, promises are made to perform better in the next exam. Another prominent place is where all the books and other informative materials are kept. Yes, a library often used as an excuse to bunk classes by few.  Also, it acted as an exemption from the classroom to complete a project or an assignment.

Moreover, boys visited to impress the studious girl in the class who happens to be their crush. Many students create bonds with books and grow their love for reading. It is a hub for completing project or notes without any disturbance. Moreover, it is also known as the reference centre, which provides a plethora of information on subject matters lucidly. The librarian acts like a watchdog that sniffs every individual’s gimmicks and tricks by displaying strong observational skills.

The inter-college fest, programs, and activities invoke the spirit of competitiveness and cut-throat competitions. Skits, dance, debate, sports etc. gives a competitive edge and learning ground where lessons are learnt, victories and failures are faced with grace and good-hearted energy. College auditorium is a setting where confidence overcomes fear and lives get changed due to cheering and encouragement. Also, the stray dog that is seen loitering around the campus is loved by all and automatically becomes an unofficial affectionate mascot.
