CUCET 2021: The full form of CUCET is Central Universities Common Entrance Test. Application forms for CUCET 2021 shall be made available in the online mode. This national level entrance test shall be conducted only once a year. Around 14 central universities of India take part in this exam. CUCET 2021 Application Form
The CUCET application process is explained below:
- From the second week of March 2021, candidates can begin to submit the CUCET application forms in the online mode.
- The last date to submit application forms is in the last week of April 2021.
- Candidates are advised to produce valid and working e-mail ID and contact number in the application number for receiving updates and alerts of the examination.
- They have to upload their recent passport size photo and signature in the prescribed format.
- Candidates can choose the test centre of their choice in the form.
- During the application correction window, candidates have the facility to modify selected fields in their submitted application form.
- Candidates are advised to preserve a copy of the submitted form for future references.
Application Fee
The application fee is to be remitted in the online mode via net banking/ debit card/credit card usage/UPI. The category wise application fee breakdown is indicated below:

CUCET 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates are advised to go through the following eligibility criteria before applying:
- All Indian citizens can apply for CUCET 2021.
- For UG courses, candidates must have studied class 10th and 12th from a recognised board.
- For PG courses, candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
- For PhD candidates, the qualifying degree is Mphil/ PhD and a master’s degree from a recognised university of India.
- Candidates appearing in final year exams are also eligible to apply for CUCET 2021.
CUCET 2021 Exam Pattern

- CUCET 2021 shall be conducted in the offline pen and paper-based test.
- Exam duration is of 2 hours, and paper consists of MCQs only.
- The exam paper carries 100 marks totally.
- 1 mark shall be awarded for every right answer, for every wrong answer 0.25 marks shall be deducted.

CUCET 2021 Syllabus
The brief syllabus for UG and PG programmes is explained below:
For UG Programmes
- Physics – Topics like magnetic effects of current, heat, thermodynamics, waves, current electricity, motion in one and two dimensions, work, power and energy, etc.
- Chemistry – Topics like redox reaction, organic chemistry, catalysis, periodic table, electrochemistry, solid state, petroleum, etc.
- Maths – Topics like trigonometry, algebra, dynamics, statistics, vectors, co-ordinate geometry, probability, calculus, etc
For PG Programmes
- For MA/ M.Ed course – Topics based on cultural and social change, growth and development, intelligence, current affairs, personalities etc.
- For LLM course – Topics on human rights law, constitution, labour laws, laws of evidence etc.
CUCET 2021 Preparation Tips
These preparation tips prove very useful to students for their exam:
- Make a proper study time table and stick to the routine regularly.
- Be thorough with the fundamental concepts and prepare well from NCERT textbooks.
- Solve mock tests, online test papers and assessment modules to know your progress from time to time.
- Study from recommended textbooks and do not pile up too much of study material unnecessarily.
- Prepare good notes and write short, crisp points that will help you during revision.
- Read at least two newspapers every day and stay updated with current affairs and general knowledge.
- Improve concentration through yoga and meditation.
CUCET 2021 Exam Centres
CUCET shall be held in different exam centres like Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Indore, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Chennai, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Mysore, Kochi, Patiala, Raipur and others. All candidates need to select two choices for the exam centre. Once a candidate makes preference for exam centre, the same cannot be changed in the application form later on.
CUCET 2021 Admit Card
In the second week of April 2021, the CUCET admit card shall be available for download in the online mode. Candidates have to enter their registration number and date of birth to download the card. The admit card is a very important document containing important candidate information like name, exam centre, date, time, address, exam schedule and instructions. Candidates have to compulsorily produce the admit card and valid ID proof to the invigilator during the exam. Without these documents, candidates shall not be allowed to appear for the exam.
CUCET 2021 Answer Key
In the last week of April 2021, the provisional answer keys shall be released in the online mode. Candidates can assess their approximate marks using the answer key. They can also challenge and raise objections to the preliminary answer keys. Later, the authorities shall publish the final answer key. No objections shall be entertained after the publication of final answer keys.
CUCET 2021 Result
In the last week of May 2021, CUCET 2021 results are expected to be announced. On the basis of marks obtained by candidates in the entrance exam, the merit list shall be prepared. Candidates can enter their user name and password to download their result sheet. Separate merit lists shall be prepared for UG and PG courses. Shortlisted candidates in the UG and PG merit lists shall further be called in for counselling sessions.
CUCET 2021 Cut off
Based on the overall candidate’s performance in the CUCET exam, authorities shall decide the cut off scores. It also depends on other factors like last year cut off marks, number of candidates appearing for exam, toughness level of exam and number of candidates appearing for the exam. Cut off marks shall be published in the online mode. All candidates scoring cut off marks shall qualify for further counselling round.
CUCET 2021 Counselling Session
Online counselling round shall be organised for all CUCET 2021 qualified candidates. Seat allocation shall be done on the basis of merit list prepared after CUCET 2021 results. Candidates selected for admission are hereby advised to fill in the admission form of their respective universities. Original documents required for verification are listed below:
