CUSAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria, Age Limit, Qualification, Marks

CUSAT 2021 Eligibility must be met by the candidates sitting for the CUSAT 2021 examination. Cochin University of Science and Technology known as CUSAT administers Common Admission Test (CAT). CAT exam is regulated to offer admission into B. Tech and several PG programmes. This article is aimed at providing all the necessary information regarding the CUSAT Eligibility 2021.

CUSAT 2021 Eligibility

CUSAT CAT Eligibility Criteria 2021 must be checked before registering through the CUSAT 2021 Application Form. Only candidates fitting the eligibility criteria shall be allowed to attend, and if a candidate is found to be ineligible in the later stage, then the candidate shall be disqualified from the admission process. The comprehensive details related to the eligibility norms formulated by the main conducting authority for CUSAT 2021 Examination are disclosed below:

General Eligibility

  • The Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) candidates must obtain minimum qualifying marks in the qualifying examination (except marine engineering).
  • For UG Programmes – SEBC candidates of Kerala state with non-creamy layer status for admission to B.Tech programme (except marine engineering) have to secure at least 45% marks in Mathematics & 45% marks in
  • PCM subjects combined in the qualifying examination.
  • For PG Programmes – SEBC candidates of Kerala State with Non-Creamy Layer Status are awarded 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks of the qualifying examination.
  • Candidates holding valid GATE score shall be given 5% relaxation in the qualifying examination marks for M.Tech programme.

Course-wise Eligibility

The eligibility requirements of CUSAT 2021 course-wise are listed in the below section:

Courses Eligibility Requirements
B.TechMust have cleared 12th examination from Kerala or any equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in PCM subjects combined.
B.Tech Instrumentation TechnologyMust have cleared 10+2 from a sanctioned state/national board majored in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with a minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM subjects combined and 55% marks in Mathematics separately. The minimum qualifying marks for SEBC candidates of Kerala state is 55% marks in PCM subjects combined and 50% marks in Mathematics separately.
B.Tech Naval Architecture & Ship BuildingMust have cleared 12th examination from Kerala or any other equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks. Candidates must have secured 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in PCM subjects combined in the qualifying examination (12th).
B.Tech Marine EngineeringCandidates must have cleared class 12th or equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in PCM subjects combined and 50% marks alone in mathematics. Must have cleared 10th & 12th grade with mandatory subject English securing 50% marks. Vocational/diploma candidates cannot apply for CUSAT CAT.
Upper age limit levied by the university is 25 years as on 1st September of the admission year.
5 Year integrated M.Sc in PhotonicsMust have cleared 12th examination from Kerala majored in PCM subjects with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Mathematics & 50% marks in PCM subjects combined.
BBA.LL.B (Hons.) & B.Com.LL.B. (Hons.)Must have cleared 10+2 examination in a science discipline with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks or 55% marks in Commerce/Arts/Humanities. Applying candidates should be at least 20 years old as on 1st July of the admission year and 22 years old for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
3 Year LLBMust hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 40% and 35% marks for SC/ST.
M.Sc Computer ScienceCandidates must hold a 3-year Bachelor degree in computer science/information technology/computer applications/computer science & engineering qualified with first-class having a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.
MA in Applied Economics
Must hold a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks or B.Com, BBA, BBM with Economics being one among the subjects with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks or B.Sc. Mathematics or Statistics with a minimum aggregate of 65% marks and SC/ST candidates must have a pass mark.
MBAMust hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. Candidates must possess a valid score in MAT, CMAT or CAT.
MCACandidates must have cleared graduation in science stream with Mathematics or graduation in Electronics/Information Technology/Computer Science/Computer Applications/Engineering/Technology with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks.
LLMMust hold a bachelor’s degree in law with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks.
M.TechMust hold a B.Tech or equivalent degree in relevant discipline with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks from a sanctioned university/institution. Candidates must have a valid GATE Scorecard.
M. Voc. in Mobile Phone Application DevelopmentMust hold B.Tech in Information Technology/Computer Science/Electronics & Communication with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks or MCA/M Sc Computer Science with first class or B Voc. degree in associated disciplines with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.
M. Voc. in Technology & Management ConsultingMust hold B.Tech in the engineering stream with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks or MBA degree with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks or B Voc. degree in relevant disciplines with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.
