Every scholarship scheme has its own set of unique offers and feature list. It explains the relative need for which the scholarship is provided for and also hints at the background proforma of the offering scholarship. Here is the list of important features of Delhi scholarship:

  • The academic grants shall be directly transferred to the beneficiary’s account without any middlemen working through them.
  • Under Delhi scholarships, there are many schemes wherein loans are offered at very low rates of interest or almost zero interest rates.
  • These scholarships ease the process of education loans and their approval mechanisms to students.
  • The amount granted to students is also decided and dependent on the annual income of parents.
  • Students with good merit records are given due importance at the time of scholarship disbursal.
  • Delhi scholarships are an asset in themselves, as they help promote higher education among students.

Delhi Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  • Annual family income to be less than INR 2 lakhs
  • Only Delhi domiciled candidates can apply, they must be residents for at least 3 years
  • Candidates must be studying between class 1 till 12 at government recognized school in Delhi
  • Attendance record of the candidate must not be less than 70%
Scholarship/Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority (Class 1 to 12)
  • Annual family income to be less than INR 2 lakhs
  • Only Delhi domiciled candidates can apply, they must be residents for at least 3 years
  • Candidates must be studying between class 1 till 12 at government recognized school in Delhi
Merit Scholarship to SC/ST/OBC/Minority
  • Delhi domiciled candidates can apply
  • SC/ST/OBC/Minority category candidates can apply
  • Candidates must be pursuing courses from recognized educational institutions only. It could be professional to technical stream colleges as well.
  • 60% academic score is mandatory
  • For SC/ST, student’s min family income is not applicable here.
  • For minorities and OBC students, annual family income should be less than INR 2 lakh per annum
  • For minorities, they must be Delhi domiciled for min 3 years or more
Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC Students
  • OBC students from class 1 till 10 can apply
  • Delhi domiciled candidates with parents annual income less than 2 lakhs can apply
Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students
  • OBC category students from class 11th till post-graduation can apply
  • Delhi domiciled candidates with annual family income less than INR 1 lakh can apply
Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC Students
  • SC students who are Delhi domiciled can apply.
  • Annual family income to be less than INR 2.5 lakhs
  • Class 9th/10th candidates studying in government/government recognized/ state board affiliated institutions only.
Post Matric Scholarship for SC Students
  • SC students with annual family income less than INR 2.5 lakhs can apply
  • Post matriculation courses or higher secondary course enrolled candidates can apply
  • Delhi domiciled candidates only can apply
  • After clearing one level of education, candidates who wish to opt for different streams but at the same level are not eligible under this scheme.
Financial Assistance to Educationally Backward Minority Students
  • Muslims and Neo Buddhists can apply
  • Class 1 till 12th standard candidates with annual family income less than INR 1 lakh can apply
Delhi Ladli Scheme
  • Only female candidates can apply
  • Candidate should be born in Delhi only
  • Candidate should be in possession of a birth certificate issued by Registrar of Births and Deaths, MCD/NDMC
  • Candidate’s parents must be legal citizens of Delhi for at least 3 years before the candidate’s date of birth
  • Annual family income to be less than INR 1 lakh
  • Candidate must be studying in a school recognized by the Delhi government or MCD or NDMC
  • Only 2 girls for every family can opt for this scheme.

Documents Required for Delhi Scholarship

Now that we have understood the application process for the various schemes, it’s now time to understand the various documents to be attached alongside the application form. Whether it’s the ONLINE or the OFFLINE mode of application, candidates need to send applications duly attached with relevant documents. If documents aren’t attached with the application form, such forms shall not be taken ahead for further processing.

  • Aadhaar card or Voter ID card or Ration card or telephone bill or driving license
  • Domicile certificate

Delhi Scholarship – Rewards & Benefits

  • For students with parents annual income less than 2 lakhs – 75% of fee reimbursement
  • For students with parents’ annual income, less than 60,000 – 100% of fee reimbursement.
Financial Assistance to SC/ST/OBC/Minority
  • For students from class 1 to 8 – INR 100 per month [ for 10 months]
  • For students from class 9 to 12 – INR 200 per month [ for 10 months]
Scholarship/Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority (Class 1 to 12)
  • For students from class 1 to 8 – INR 1000 per year [ SC/ST/Minority classes only]
  • For class 6 to 8 OBC students with scores between 55 to 60% – INR 600 per year
  • For class 6 to 8 OBC students with scores above 60% – INR 720 per year
  • For class 9 and 10 SC/ST/ OBC/minority students with scores between 55 to 60% – INR 1620 per year
  • For class 9 and 10 SC/ST/ OBC/minority students with scores above 60% – INR 2040 per year
  • For class 11 and 12th SC/ST/ OBC/minority students with scores between 55 to 70% – INR 3000 per year
  • For class 9 and 10 SC/ST/ OBC/minority students with scores above 70% – INR 4500 per year.
Merit Scholarship to SC/ST/OBC/Minority
  • INR 1860 every month [ for a year only]
Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC Students
  • Hostel residents from class 3 to 10 – INR 500 per month [ for 10 months]
  • Day scholars from class 1 to 10 – INR 100 per month [ for 10 months]
  • Additional ad-hoc grant for every student – INR 500 every year
Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students
  • Maintenance allowance – up to INR 10,000 every year
  • Course fee reimbursement – up to INR 20,000 every year
Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC Students
  • For class 9th and 10th – INR 750 per month
