500+ Words Essay on Destiny of a nation is shaped in its classrooms

Our nation gained independence in 1947 and since then has come a long way in every sphere of progress and development. The great leaders of our nation have shaped the basic structural framework of our country and have given it a definitive place in terms of global competition.

Our nation has marked its presence on the global map since then and continuously treads towards higher goals and a brighter and prospective tomorrow for its citizens.

We the citizens of our nation

Our nation has given many stalwarts in different areas of operations. Starting from core technological fields to space aviation systems, sports to entertainment, agricultural setups to centers of higher learning and many more, there has been tremendous growth and prosperity in all spheres of development. Different sectors of the nation and their overall contribution in the nation’s GDP calculations decide the destiny of a nation to a very large extent.

The perception of ‘Destiny.’

Destiny has different meanings in different contexts. For a nation, it means competing in the global space and making a difference to the world. It speaks about the economic progress of a nation with respect to its overall growth. Tremendous importance has been placed on technological presence in every aspect of nation building. The inception of technology forays into classroom learning and has definitely created new inroads for the changing present and a better step towards a remarkably ‘destined’ future.

The notion of ‘Learning.’

In our country, importance is given to rote learning rather than rational thinking in children. For centuries, children have been taught to grasp everything word by word from their textbooks and pour them out later on their exam papers. This system actually restricted and constrains their learning capacities and forces braces to be put on their young minds.

When they entered workplaces after completing their formal education, they saw a totally new world outside, unfamiliar and unseen in all respects. This ‘naïve gap’ gets created in young but untrained minds, thanks to the pitfalls in our education system. Right measures to lessen this gap are being taken in the right direction in today’s scenario and changes are reflected in every ambit of learning circles.

Classroom learning – Reaching out destined goals

Achievers in various fields from time immemorial have always stressed upon the fact that difference comes in when one has a vision to work for. Teachers, teaching in a classroom have a definite task of solidifying this vision in young minds and nurturing them well. The classroom where young minds are trained for a better future get a perspective of their contribution for the nation only when they are set free to think.

Formal education system, combined with assessments and examination are definitely necessary to grade and assess students for their abilities, but shouldn’t become the sole criteria. It is only hinting their learning capacities and not reflecting their innate talents. Much work needs to be done outside the framework of just examinations and this can happen by encouraging healthy interactions and discussions between the teachers and the students.

Taking the students outside of their textbooks and making learning an open book concept will help remarkably towards a better future, both for young minds and for the nation.

Bringing technology to the fore can act as an impetus to this vision. Students can be encouraged to participate in conversations with achievers in various fields, as part of their curriculum. Live discussions, explaining concepts via presentations, video conferencing sessions with higher centers of importance, and much more can add value to their learning. This way a classroom can actually act as a torch bearer and open doors to a broadway of thinking and leveraging ideas on multi horizons.

Detrimental pointers to be changed in our system

By churning out lakhs of educated youngsters every year, where is the classroom learning leading the youth in practicality is the next big question. Larger universities have higher reach to better pay providers, namely the MNCs, hence have a better edge in sending out their students to play a role in increasing the country’s GDP indirectly. This is only the case of a small population called the ‘creamy layer’.

Another such small chunk, with or without the help of the reservation system finds itself a seat in governmental departments and agencies. Thanks to reservation policies, a vast majority of our youth still remains unemployed outside the doors and we can find their names in huge databases.

The destiny of a nation can be changed only when the majority of the pass out students every year are provided an opportunity to find suitable jobs for themselves. They must be helped to find a foothold for themselves in terms of livelihood sustenance and to make use of the knowledge they gained from classroom learning.

The aim should be at making the youth ‘employable’ rather than just making the students ‘literate’ with a degree in hand to justify their being literate, apart from what we call them’ educated youth’. Offering them limited scope to sustain in the outside world does no good to them.

For all the years that they invested in educating themselves they only face rejection and that is not a good progressive path to shape the country’s destiny. This point of making our education system more ‘employment friendly’ goes a long way in shaping a good destiny for any nation.

Progress and development linked to classrooms

New parameters for open learning and such other related factors contribute in shaping the destiny of a nation. How this shaping is effected by classroom learning is a thing to ponder over. Let’s take an example of a software engineer who has just completed his bachelor degree in engineering and is hunting for a job.

Let’s also assume that he landed a small job at a private firm to start with. The knowledge he gained from his classroom learning is what he uses in his job area to apply learned concepts to get his work done. With increased experience and inputs from his workplace, he adds value to his conceptual classroom learning and gains practical hands-on experience.

Now this experience can be manifested as a ‘resource’ that can help him find greater level jobs or opens doors towards an opportunity for higher learning.

Thus the above explained ‘resource’ actually becomes his small contribution in shaping a larger destiny of the nation to which he belongs to. In other terms, every such small contribution from every citizen forms an important ‘aggregation’ of ideas and innovative thinking bundles, that actually help shape the future destiny of a nation.

We can see high rise multi structured buildings, steel bridges, mega flyovers, magnificent connectivity and e-governance operations that highlight the technological progress of our nation. Along with this, higher intellectual thinking and making technology viable and accessible to the mass population, leading to better survival and living conditions actually mark the destiny of a nation.

Conclusion

Inception of learning, innovation of ideas and application in suitable fields forms the backbone in any nation’s progress and development. Higher inroads of development take place by encouraging healthy incubation of formative thinking and inception of ideas, within classrooms. Classrooms are therefore an important ‘impetus’ or rather holy centers of education where ideas stem and grow, multiply, create wings for themselves, fly higher and shape the destiny of a nation.
