Global Warming Speech
Good Morning to one & all present here. I extend a warm welcome to everyone present over here. Today we are going to discuss a very alarming topic that is global warming.
Global warming is a term used to indicate the global rise in the average temperature of the earth. The release of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone gases are directly linked to global warming.
These are the gases within the atmosphere which absorb & emit the heat radiations. These heat-trapping gases absorb the sunlight & the radiations that would have escaped into space—the atmospheric temperature rises, which further agitates & boils our weather.
According to statistics, in comparison to the 19th century, there has been a rise in the average temperature by 0.8 degree Celsius. At the pace of greenhouse gases emission, it is estimated that the three will be an increase of 1.5 to 5.3 degree Celsius by the end of 2100 in the average temperature.
So let us first understand what the causes of Global Warming are. The release of harmful greenhouse gases is causing global warming as we have already discussed. The greenhouse gases are majorly the result of human activities on earth. As we are getting more & more technologically advanced & efficient the requirement for energy, transportation, industrialization, deforestation, mining also increases at the same pace. All these activities are contributing to the release of greenhouse gases directly or indirectly.
And not to our surprise the effect to Global warming is not minor & not limited to only human beings. The global climate change has affected the whole biodiversity of the planet. With the increase in temperature & misbalanced ecosystem, we are at the verge of extinction of many species on the earth.
According to studies, with an increase in the average temperature of about 1.5 degree Celsius the risk of extinction multiplies for about 20-30 per cent of species. Global warming has also increased the rate of melting of ice at the poles, increasing the sea level at a rate which was never seen before.
The climatic disturbances by Global warming have adversely affected the health, economy & geopolitical balances in many parts of the world. The increasing population & the growing demand has aggravated the situation of global warming in the last couple of decades.
As the people of this planet, we have the responsibility to protect the natural earth & its environment. India emits about 7% of the global emission, which is causing Global warming. The issue is being addressed at the global level & many global policies have been introduced to check the emission. Every country is trying its best to control carbon emission.
And what impacts the countries performance is how sensible the citizens of the country are. Every individual contribution for the same is equally significant with the policies taken by our government. Few of which are planting treats, using public transport system, recycling wastes etc.
So let us make every effort in our daily life which can help us decrease Global Warming. Let us join our hands to make this planet much safer & beautiful for our future generation.
Global Warming Speech For 3 Minutes
Good Morning to everyone present over here. The topic of discussion today has great importance not only in the global scenario but also in our individual lives. Let me remind everyone present over here that “Global Warming is no more a prediction; it is happening now.”
Global warming is a phenomenon in which the average temperature of the earth is increasing day by day. According to statistics, compared to the 19th century, there has been a rise in the average temperature of the planet by 0.8 degree Celsius. At the pace of greenhouse gases emission, it is estimated that the three will be an increase of 1.5 to 5.3 degree Celsius by the end of 2100 in the average temperature.
The greenhouse gases, i.e. carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone gases are the major contributor which entraps the sunlight & radiation in the atmosphere. The unreleased heat is adding up to the increasing temperature of the earth. The primary causes for the heat-trapping gases release are burning fossil fuels, deforestation, industrialization, population explosion, mining, overexploitation of natural resources etc.
Global warming has affected the natural environment of the planets. It has affected both the flora & fauna on the earth. With increase temperature & misbalanced ecosystem, a lot of species are at the verge of extinction. Not only animals & plants, but the global climate change has also affected the human’s health, economy & geopolitical balances to a great extent. Melting of the icebergs of polar reasons has put a threat to life by an increase in the sea level at an unexpected rate.
India being a developing country with the second largest population in the world, is emerging as one of the significant contributors to the emissions. There are several policies adopted not only in the country level but also at the global level for all the countries to tackle the problem. Afforestation, environmental validation before plant set up, using renewable resources are few of the initiatives by our government to curb the extremities of the situation.
But our contributions also count as crucial as the policies. For example using optimum household electricity which can reduce the fossil fuel burning, using public transport to reduce the vehicular emissions, planting trees etc. will have an impact on the reducing the emissions of the country.
Let us take a step forward to preserve the beauty of the planet for our next generations. Let’s pledge to save & restore the natural beauty of the planet.
