Check Eligibility criteria
As per nationality, you should be one of these:
- Citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who must come to India before January 1, 1962, with an intention to be permanently residing over here. Furthermore, migrating from any of the following countries for permanently residing in India is also eligible to get participated- Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, and East African countries.
As per nationality, the candidates have earned the degrees from the recognized universities or must have an equivalent qualification or a degree from a Central, State or a Deemed university or a degree from an open university, or a degree received through correspondence or distance education or have passed the final exam of ICAI, ICSI and ICWAI or have passed the final exam of the MBBS degree but have not yet completed an internship.
The minimum age of a candidate is 21 years while the maximum will be 30 years as on 1st of August in the year of examination.

Number of attempts
For General Category Candidates- there would be only 7 attempts,
For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST)- there would be only 9 attempts, and
For Other Backward Class (OBC) category candidates- there would be no restriction.

IPS Admit Card
