IISc Admission 2021: In the first week of February 2021, applications would be made open for IISc admissions for the year 2021. Admissions to IISc are based on results of JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET, CEED, UGC NET, KVPY and other national level entrance exams. Candidates can obtain admission into various UG/ PG/ PHD level programs by producing these results. For the M.Des course, candidates can obtain admission based on GATE/CEED scores and a further design test followed by the interview process. For M.Tech and M. Mgt programs, candidates shortlisted in GATE/CAT/GMAT have to attend GD and personal interview rounds. IISc 2021 Application Form
- From the first week of February 2021, IISC 2021 application form for all UG/PG and PhD programs shall be made available.
- For UG courses, the deadline for application submission is last week of April 2021, and for PG courses, the deadline is last week of March 2021.
- Applications would be available in the online mode.
- Candidates have to provide a valid email ID and mobile number and upload recent passport size photograph and signature in the application.
- A hard copy of the submitted application should be retained for future use.
Application Fee
UG and PG course fees to be paid in the online mode through net banking/ debit cards and credit card usage.

IISc 2021 Eligibility Criteria
All candidates have to look into the following conditions to qualify for admission at various IISc courses:
For UG Course, the conditions are:
- Candidates must have passed class 12th with minimum 60% marks from a recognised board.
- Candidate should be in possession of valid KVPY, JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, NEET scorecard.
- Candidates appearing for class 12th exam in the current year are also eligible.
For PG admissions into M.Tech and M. Mgt courses, the conditions are:
- Candidates must have passed bachelor’s degree in BE/B.Tech from a recognised university.
- Candidate should be in possession of valid GATE 2019/ 2020/ 2021 scores, GMAT or CAT 2019 scores.
- Candidates appearing for last year exam in the current year are also eligible.
IISc 2021 Rank List
After the application forms are received with the declaration of relevant entrance exam scores, the rank list will be published. Rank lists are displayed in the order of entrance exam scores. Candidates who qualify one of these exams amongst KVPY, JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, GATE, CAT, NEET, JEST, JAM, CSIR- UGC NET/ JRF, DBT JRF, CEED, JEST and ICMR JRF stand a chance to enter the rank list. These shortlisted candidates can apply for admissions into various courses. A separate merit list for reserved category candidates would also be prepared. Based on these merit lists, candidates shall be called in for further interview process.
IISc 2021 Cut off
IISc displays the minimum cut off marks for students to qualify for admissions. Cut off marks will be displayed in the online mode. Cut off marks depends on the number of students attempting the exam, difficulty level of exam, previous year cut off percentage etc. The category wise cut off marks would be displayed by the authorities. Expected cut off range for various categories are indicated here – for General Merit – around 60%, for OBC – NCL – around 50%, for reserved categories – around 30%.
IISc 2021 Admission
For admission into M.Tech and M.Des, admission is followed after a process of aptitude test and interview. Candidates shortlisted through GATE/CEED exams stand a chance to get admission into various programs as per individual selection criteria of every course. Candidates are shortlisted basically on the national level scores and later followed by an interview process. Eligible candidates based on these scores shall be named in the merit list.
Documents need to be submitted for verification during the admission process; the list is as follows:
