IMU CET 2021 Eligibility Criteria must be met by the candidates applying for admission to IMU campuses for various courses. IMU administers IMU CET to grant admission into several UG and PG courses in Marine Engineering. Candidates qualifying in the IMU CET shall be sent for the counselling process and further admission rounds to gain admission into various IMU campuses and its affiliated institutes. In the below section, the eligibility criteria for admission into various UG and PG programmes are specified:
UG Programmes
For B.Sc (Nautical Science)
- Candidate must have cleared 10+2 level exams or its equivalent from a sanctioned board.
- 10+2 level qualifying exams must include Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English subjects.
- A minimum aggregate required to be eligible is 60% marks in PCM and 50% in English subject separately.
- 5% relaxation is provided in eligibility marks (No relaxation in English subject) for ST/SC candidates.
For B.Tech
- Candidate must have cleared 10+2 level exams or its equivalent from a sanctioned board.
- 10+2 level qualifying exams must include Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English subjects.
- A minimum aggregate required to be eligible is 60% marks in PCM and 50% in English subject separately.
- 5% relaxation is provided in eligibility marks (No relaxation in English subject) for ST/SC candidates.
PG Programmes
For M.Tech (Marine Engineering and Management)
- Candidate must possess a B.Tech/BE degree in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering/Marine Engineering/Naval Architecture from a sanctioned University. A minimum aggregate required to be eligible is 60% marks.
- 5% relaxation is provided in eligibility marks for ST/SC candidates. OR
- Applying candidate is expected to be an associate member of the Institution of Engineers Part A & B in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum qualifying aggregate of 60% marks. OR
- MEO Class, I Certificate of Competency. Candidates can apply for admission based on GRE/GATE scores.
For PG Diploma in Marine Engineering
- Candidate must be a graduate in Mechanical & automation engineering/Mechanical engineering/naval engineering from an institute accredited under the IITs or AICTE.
- Candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from IMU can also apply.
- Candidates must satisfy the necessities of DG shipping, i.e. a minimum of 50% in final year and a minimum of 50% in English in 10+2 grade.
Age Criteria
- Candidate’s age must be between 17 years and 25 years as on 17th July 2021.
- 5% relaxation in upper age limit for ST/SC candidates
Physical Fitness
- Candidate should have a healthy binocular vision – 6/6 (normal) in each eye separately.
- Candidates seeking admission in B.Tech (Marine Engineering) must have unaided vision 0.5 (6/12) in each eye separately or 0.67 (6/9) in better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in another eye.
- Candidates must be medically fit, satisfy all the medical necessities and be medically fit according to the DGS guidelines.
IMU CET 2021 Application Form
IMU CET 2021 Application Form shall be published on the website through online mode. Candidate can register through the online application form from 1st week of April 2021. Deadline for online submission of filled application form is till 2nd week of May 2021.
