Jawaharlal Nehru was the first prime minister of India. He was a lover of children, that why children call him “Chacha Nehru”. On 14th November, on his birthday, children’s day is celebrated every year. He was a great leader and always worked to serve India. On 14th November 1889, Jawaharlal Nehru was born in Allahabad. Motilal Nehru was his father. He was an Indian lawyer, and politician serving the Indian National Congress from 1919 –1920 and 1928–1929. Being a member of Nehru’s family, he was prosperous and gave the best education in his son- Jawaharlal Nehru. Swaruprani Thussu (1868–1938) was the mother of Jawaharlal Nehru.
She was from a reputed Kashmiri Brahmin family settled in Lahore. She was the second wife of Motilal Nehru as his first wife was dead during the childbirth. She played a remarkable role in India’s freedom movement from 1920-1930. She acted as an advocate of civil disobedience, and she was against the British Raj and its salt laws.
