Lord Krishna had the ability to stop the Kurukshetra war which took place somewhere between 5561 BCE and 950 BCE between the Pandavas and Kauravas, but he did not do so because he wanted to teach Duryodhan and Dhitarasthra as they never took side of Dharma because of their ego.
There was another reason for the same if Lord Krishna would have done everything then the Pandavas would have never worked hard to win the battle. He acted like a ‘margadarshak’ that is a guide, even when he possessed every power. The Lord will guild you, He will show you the correct path, but at the end of the day it is the individual efforts which will work.
There is always a luck factor for any achievement but that luck factor will only work if we work hard will determination, dedication and devotion towards what we want to achieve.

What is a Dole?
A dole is some sort of monetary benefit provided to an unemployed by the state. Here, dole has a wider meaning and include everything that a person does in the place of other.
A teacher gives home work and other tasks to the kids and the duty of the parent is to assist them in doing that task properly. But the parents finds that if their children will complete the given task than they will not get good marks and for the purpose of getting better marks the parents themselves complete the task of their child.
The parents are giving their children a dole. Here, the completion of task is a dole and child is doing nothing. This makes the child lazy and they tend to throwing things over others. A child never realises the true value of hard work. He will not appreciate the work of his parents because he will never know how much efforts his parents are putting for him.
What is lending a hand?
Lending a hand means providing your assistance of help to another. If we take the same example, to define what lending hand really is? Then in the new situation the parents will help their kids in completing the task but they will not complete the task by themselves. By doing this the child will develop a better understanding for the given task. He will also understand the value of hard work and will celebrate when he accomplishes the given tasks.
Both the acts, that is completing the homework or helping the kids in home work, are done out of love, affection, kindness and willingness to serve.
But at first place there is no development of the student and in second one the parents are helping the child to get acknowledged with the potential he carries. In former case, the parents are blocking the long term development of their child which is harmful and will paralyse the true strength of the child.
The sense of superiority
Taking an example from my life, me and my best friends sits together for semesters; he is an average student and I am a rank holder of my batch. I never dictate my answers to him, rather we sit together before examination and I teach him the entire syllabus.
But, sometimes we get a few invigilators who starts dictating and helping those students which are sitting idle in the exam hall. These teachers never taught us, neither they are connected with anyone of us but, they do this because they think they are superior from our teachers and us.
Therefore, the way I taught my friend was a helping hand which I lend because of our friendship but what the teacher does is an act by which he wanted to expose his superiority.
The schemes of Government
In May, 2019, a cyclone named Fani brought misery to certain regions of Odisha and after this the government has announced monetary help of Rs 500 to Rs. 1000 to the victims of the destruction. We can say this without any doubt that, today, India has a very strong climate forecast technologies and they were aware of the fact that the cyclone would hit the shore.
In place of strong planning to cope up the effects, the government provided compensation to the victims. Compensation means giving a dole to these victims. At the same place the government could have provided them with various employment and help those to live a dignified life as provided in Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
Poverty is one of the biggest issues of India and government is doing a lot to get people out of the swamp of poverty. The issue of poverty and unemployment goes parallel. They are poor because they are unemployed and they are unemployed because they are poor and they had no means to get themselves educated.
The government has started the MGNREGA scheme in 2005 which provided guaranteed employment of 100 days, a year. The scheme proved out to be very successful in raising people above the poverty line.
This is just an example; the Government of India has been throwing such schemes to its citizens from a very long time. But it is doing very less to educate the people, to make them capable of doing things, developing their minds, encouraging them, welcoming their ideas etc.
These things are the need of today’s society. We see a man in rags begging for a penny. The man is physically capable of doing things but he becomes habitual of doing nothing. He finds begging easy and he continue to do so. He can work hard as a taxi driver, a worker, a sweeper anything like this as these things do not get specialised skills. Today, India needs to grow but people are rewarded in this country for even doing ‘just nothing’.
India giving dole to other nations
India believes in helping other countries when they ask for help. In many cases, India help them by giving the doles and grants. But, that very country will face some other like conditions for which they got grants and dole. India needs to teach those people, and provide an environment in which there development process could start.
India needs to push these economics rather than supplying them money. The government of India can provide them with technological advancement, knowledge exchange and personal support. The world of globalization do need give and take relationship but it has a wide aspect which include establishing a friendly partnership with other nations and developing together.
The benefits of lending hand in place of giving a dole
There are many benefits of advising and assisting people rather than providing them a finished work. A dole will satisfy any person for a short period but for longer duration of time they will feel helpless. Today’s youth will become tomorrow’s leader and therefore, they should be well educated and well trained.
There is a requirement to push them out of their comfort zone and expose them to the realities of life. With this they will have an all round development and will find their capacities, talents, capabilities, and strengths. They will also make them self reliant and build confidence in them.
They will have an environment in which they can introspect about themselves. There mind will be free of influence and will be filled with guidance and experience of others. They will achieve success with their independent efforts rather than dominance of others. With these fresh talents the country will bloom and development process will speed up.
We see many people who are involved in small thing to fill their bellies. These are those people who chose the path to live a dignified life and never begged or asked for dole. We need to encourage them and educate them. The educated people should follow the virtue of each one, teach one.
As quoted by Confucius, “if you plan for a year, grow rice; if you plan of ten year, grow trees; but, if you plan for one hundred year, educated children”. This shows that education is the most elementary task which the government should achieve for becoming economically stronger.
Empowerment is the key to success which makes us self independent and self respect; only that person can achieve this key who works on himself and his skill and do not depend on others.
There are so many problems in our country but giving a dole is no solution. Giving a dole will have two implications, the limited resources which can be used at other placed will deplete and other, the people will never grow. This will make them stubborn and they will try to live only on the mercy of others.
