List of Mizoram Scholarship Schemes

Different departments of the functioning Mizoram government have collaborated to offer scholarships to students at various levels effectively. It includes pre-matric, post-matric scholarship, junior research fellowship, and senior research fellowship by UGC, merit-cum-means scholarships, and many more. Mizoram Scholarship 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Every scholarship offered under this scheme has its own unique set of eligibility conditions to be fulfilled. The common criteria for all of them though, are that Mizoram domiciled candidates should only apply for these scholarships outstation candidates or candidates from other states are not eligible to apply for them. The complete list of eligibility conditions is provided below for reference:

  • Minimum score to be attained – 50%
  • Annual family income to be less than INR 1 lakhs
Post-matric scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority
  • Only for Mizoram domiciled students
  • Minimum score to be attained – 50%
  • Annual family income to be less than INR 2 lakhs
Merit cum means scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority
  • Only for Mizoram domiciled students
  • Minimum score to be attained – 50%
  • Annual family income to be less than INR 2.5 lakhs
Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF) for SC/ST
  • Candidates who have written their post-graduation level exams may only apply
  • Candidates who have currently enrolled or about to begin their Mphil/Ph.D. degrees may apply only
  • Courses in which candidate must be doing further studies include – social sciences/humanities stream/ engineering and technology or basic/pure/applied sciences
UGC-NET/JRF
  • Candidates above 30 years shall not apply
  • Minimum course eligibility for this scholarship – master degree holders
  • Minimum score to be obtained in the qualifying exam – 55% [ General category] and 50% [ for SC/ST/OBC and PWD categories]
INSPIRE Scholarship
  • Candidates falling in the age bracket of 17 to 22 may only apply.
  • In their class 12th, candidates should have scored in the top creamy layer [ very high scores, in the top 1% of ranking]
  • Candidates must be pursuing graduation/post graduation in pure/basic/natural science courses only.

Additional requirements –

  • AIEEE ranking of the candidate should be below 10,000.
  • Candidate should have cleared the CBSE PMT exam.
  • Candidates who are currently studying at esteemed varsities like DAE-CBS/ IISER or NISER are eligible to apply
  • Candidates who are scholarship beneficiaries via KVPY fellowships and thereby pursuing B.Sc or M.Sc in natural/ pure/ basic sciences may apply.
Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority
  • Candidate should have successfully cleared competitive exams like UGC-NET/ CSIR – NET/ CBSE exams etc.
  • Candidate should be currently pursuing Mphil or Ph.D. courses full time at universities.
  • Minimum score in PG exam to be 55%
  • Annual family income to be less than INR 6 lakhs
CSIR JRF
  • Only those candidates who already possess BE/B.Tech/ BS degrees, B.Pharma/MBBS, or integrated BS/MS degree can apply.
  • Candidate should be currently pursuing MS / Ph.D. program
  • Min score- 55% [ General] and 50% `[ SC/ST/OBC/PWD]
  • Age limit for fellowship – 28 years.
  • For other categories like SC/ST and OBC, candidates enjoy age relaxation of 5 years.
NEC Merit Scholarship
  • Only for EBC categories
  • Minimum score to be attained in qualifying exams – for general merit: 70%, for SC/ST – 60%
  • Candidate should be currently pursuing one of these courses – degree/ diploma/ post-graduation degrees/ Mphil/ PhD
  • Annual family income to be less than INR 4.5 lakhs

Documents Required for Mizoram Scholarship

The variety in schemes offered a call for different documents to be produced for validation purposes. Every applicant should ensure he scans his documents in the right format and size and uploads them in the respective online portal without fail. Mizoram Scholarship – Rewards & Benefits

  • For class 11th and 12th – admission fees till INR 10, 000 per year shall be covered.
  • For UG and PG courses – admission fee: INR 3000 per year and maintenance fee: INR 350 every month
Merit cum means scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority
  • INR 20000 per year
  • Maintenance allowance: INR 1000
Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF) for SC/ST
  • Stipend – INR 1500
  • Book grant – INR 3000 every year
UGC-NET/JRF
  • Stipend on a monthly basis – INR 12000 [ for selected Junior research fellows] and INR 14,000 [ for selected senior research fellows]
  • Contingency grant – INR 10,000 [ JRF] and INR 20,500 [ SRF]
  • Other benefits – HRA, medical benefits, and facility to avail leave on a medical basis.
INSPIRE Scholarship
  • Scholarship amount – INR 80,000 every year
  • Grant for summer research projects – INR 20,000
  • Scholarship amount on a monthly basis – INR 5000
Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority
  • Scholarship amount – INR 25,000 [ JRF] and INR 28000 [SRF]
  • Contingency grant – up to INR 10,000 [ JRF] and up to INR 12,000 [ SRF]
