List of MOMA Scholarships
There are three types of scholarships provided by MOMA. The salient features of each of these scholarships are listed below:
Pre-Matric Scholarship
- Minimum reward of INR 600 per month starting at the basic level.
- Family income must not be more than INR 1 lakhs
- Minimum score in the previous qualifying exam should be 50% and more.
Post-Matric Scholarship
- Students from class 11th till Ph.D. can apply.
- Family income must not be more than INR 2 lakhs
- Minimum score in the previous qualifying exam should be 50% and more.
- Reward shall be close to INR 10,000 per year and additional maintenance charges awarded up to INR 1200 every month.
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship
- Only for students who want to take up professional/technical courses at graduation/post-graduation level.
- INR 20,000 per year is the reward given out.
- Family income must not be more than INR 2.5 lakhs
- Minimum score in the previous qualifying exam should be 50% and more.
Eligibility for MOMA Scholarship 2022
All minority students studying in India in educational institutions (government/ private) recognized by the government (state/central) are eligible to apply for these scholarships. The eligibility criteria vary based on their level of education and the kind of scholarship they intend to apply for.
Pre-Matric Scholarship
- Students must be studying in schools, from class 1 up till class 10th only.
- In the previous exam conducted, the prospective student must have attained a minimum of 50% marks.
- The family’s annual income should be less than INR 1 lakhs.
Post-Matric Scholarship
- Only students studying in class 11th and 12th can apply.
- Students enrolled in technical/vocational courses like ITI/ industrial training (class 11th and 12th level only) in association with NCVT centers etc. can apply.
- Polytechnic students can apply.

How to Apply for MOMA Scholarship 2022?
All applications for MOMA have to be applied ONLINE via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The detailed steps to apply for these scholarships are enlisted below:
- As a fresh applicant, a student must first register himself on the NSP portal.
- Candidates have to provide basic information for registration.
- Based on the candidate’s domicile, the applicant ID of the student is generated. This applicant Id is the login Id for the NSP portal.
- Set a password as per your preferences.
- An OTP shall be sent to your registered contact details.
- Log into the NSP portal again with the received OTP to validate your identity.
- Go to the ‘Scholarship portal’ and check out the right kind of scholarship according to your credentials.
- Fill in all details in the scholarship application form.
- Cross-check and verify details for correctness.

MOMA Scholarship Renewal Procedure
The essential points and criteria for candidates to get their scholarship renewed are given below:
- Candidates should continue to pursue the same course opted in the previous year in the next academic session.
- At least 50% marks to be scored in the previous year to continue to avail scholarship for the next year.

MOMA Scholarship Selection Process

Pre-Matric Scholarship

Post-Matric Scholarship

Pre-Matric Scholarship Rewards
- For classes 1 to 5: Maintenance allowance of INR 100 per month for day scholars is granted.
- Admission fee: INR 500 per annum for both day scholars and hostel residents.
- Tuition fee: INR 350 per month for both day scholars and hostel residents.
- Maintenance allowance: INR 600 per month [ for hostel residents] and INR 100 per month [ for day scholars]
Post-Matric Scholarship Rewards
- For class 11 and 12 students: INR 7000 per annum covering admission and tuition fee for both day scholars and hostel residents.
- For technical and vocational courses of 11th and 12th level: INR 10,000 per annum covering admission and tuition fee for both day scholars and hostel residents.
- For UG and PG level courses: INR 3000 per annum covering admission and tuition fee for both day scholars and hostel residents.
- For classes 11 and 12th [vocational and technical courses] – Maintenance allowance of INR 380 every month for hostel residents and INR 230 per month for day scholars.
- UG and PG level courses other than technical and professional courses: Maintenance allowance of INR 570 every month for hostel residents and INR 300 per month for day scholars.
- For Mphil and Ph.D. courses, Maintenance allowance of INR 1200 every month for hostel residents and INR 550 per month for day scholars.
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Rewards
- For graduation and post-graduation courses [technical and professional courses only], course fee support of INR 20,000 for both day scholars and hostel residents is offered.
- Maintenance allowance of INR 1000 every month for hostel residents and INR 500 per month for day scholars.
MOMA Scholarship 2022 – FAQs
1. If a student is enrolled in certificate courses, can he apply for Pre-Matric Scholarship?
Answer: NO. If the course duration is less than a year, then such enrolled students can’t apply for post-matric scholarships.
2. What are the basic details that the candidate needs to know while registering on the NSP portal?
Answer: Details like Aadhaar number, academic details, school/ college registration number, bank details and domicile details.
3. What kind of details is requested in the scholarship application form?
