Short Paragraph on My Best Friend – 150 Words

“Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It’s not something you learn in school. But if you haven’t learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven’t learned anything.” – Muhammad Ali

Friends are the family that we choose. We meet quite a few people in life, but only a few stay with us. My best friend, Bipul, is one of those people who have supported and nurtured me. We’ve known each other for a long time, and the friendship has strengthened over the years. I learnt how to ride a bike from him and taught him how to cook. We did not become friends immediately after we met, but it took us a good six months to get to know each other better. We got less time together as we were both in different schools as well as different grades. I feel that I’m blessed to have a friend like Bipul.

Paragraph on My Best Friend – 300 Words

“Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you; spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.” – Amy Poehler

Friends are the support systems; without them, we can’t sustain. My Best Friend is one of the craziest yet beautiful people I have ever met. I have known Tarana since we moved to the same locality and started going to the same school. Our first day at school ended with us fighting for the same seat on the bus. By the time we reached the lift, we had become friends. We spent many afternoons playing together and lying to our mothers about doing homework. Tarana made sure that I am well prepared for exams.

She stayed awake many nights in college when we were in different cities because I had exams and couldn’t sleep. While growing up together, we realized that both of us liked football, and none of us could dance. We are still remembered fondly in that colony. Our parents always talk about the mischief’s we carried out as kids. All my significant trips have been with her, and we have spent many summers attending different summer schools. We got selected for the cosmology camp together as well. People would say that we’re inseparable and it stands true a decade later too.

Tarana quit her job at an architectural firm to become a journalist, and I am so proud of her. She has always taught me a great lesson in strength and persistence. I have grown up to be a more considerate and humble person with her. Blood is what connects us with family, but Tarana and I have been linked with an unaltered bond. The roots of this bond lie in the honesty and simplicity of our approach. I remember being bullied in school and not having the courage to answer them back. Tarana not only stood up to them but also got them suspended. She has taught me to never adhere to injustice and to believe in myself.

Long Paragraph on My Best Friend – 600 Words

“In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, for in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.” – Khalil Gibran

Friendships are blessings in disguise. Imagine having to live a life with no one to share your sorrows. Friends are the X Factor in our otherwise mundane lives. Well, my best friend, Yash, happens to be my light at the end of the tunnel. We both grew up in a society where girls can’t be friends with guys, and yet our bond never wavered.

The bond we share

We have been friends since Kinder Garden and have seen the better half of our lives together. Our class teacher, Miss Dixit, made us sit together on our first day and for a few weeks, we were arch enemies. One day, I forgot my pencil box, and he lent me everything I needed. We decided to eat lunch together, and from that day on till 12th grade, we haven’t eaten alone.

Both of us use to remain absent together. Our parents realized this later on that every time one of us fell sick, the other automatically had a headache or a stomachache too. We had similar taste in music and tried composing our songs as well. I wrote songs on our friendship, and he would sing. After all these years and so much technological advancement, all we lack is time; else we could have created some good music. I have been his subject every time he wanted to master the art of making portraits.

The qualities I admire

Yash is one of the most empathetic and compassionate people I’ve met. He volunteers for food distribution, flood reliefs and children’s education all the time. When we were in college, one of our juniors; Naveen lost his father and couldn’t pay his fees. Yash used his internship stipend to pay for him. I have learnt to be more humble because of him.

He loves animals and keeps helping every injured puppy, kitten or bird he finds. I remember making PETA placards for him and forcing him to pose because he was protesting against sterilization of street dogs. He stood outside the municipality building for three days and nights before his PIL was heard.

He is also one of the smartest people I know. He went abroad to finish his under graduation and graduation degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude in both. I remember flying to the states for his graduation ceremony and crying like an idiot when he spoke. He was also the valedictorian of his class. He remembered to mention my name with his parents, and that was a moment of pride for me.

Conclusion

Friendships are not a given but are privileges that one needs to keep fighting for continually. I got lucky in the best friend department, and I am eternally grateful. Even after being married and staying in different continents, we are always in touch and each other’s prayers.
