It was a new place, a modern-day and first day of my school in St. Mary’s School. My father works in the police department as a police officer, so he keeps receiving transference from one place to another depending upon his work. I never had the opportunity to study in the same school and spend my childhood with similar friends.
They kept on changing due to our constant relocation to different places. I woke up in the morning, had my breakfast and got ready for school. It was a bright sunny day, and as usual, I was excited and anxious to meet new people in my life.
My mother dropped me at the school gate. While travelling in a car, we had a small pep talk where she was trying to make me understand the fresh opening and beautiful encounters I will experience in the school. As soon as I reached, I was nervous and a bit scared. I bade my mother goodbye and slowly walked inside the gate.
Kids were smiling, laughing and staring at me. I felt like an alien who just landed from another planet and desperately wanted to go back, but I promised my mother that I would enjoy my brand-new environment. A generous lady approached me and asked me my name and classroom.
She was kind and guided me to my classroom an even introduced me to the class. I breathe a sigh of relief and felt relaxed. My classmates seemed friendly, and one of the kids offered me a seat next to him with a smile. Our class teacher entered the room and wished us a good morning.
Before starting the class, she noticed me and asked me to introduce myself to the class. I did, and everyone seemed happy to welcome me as their classmate. My class teacher was affectionate and considerate. I was delighted at last and comfortable. I made new friends and got acquainted with the school’s surrounding. The day ended well, and I was contented and glad to be part of this new school and place.
