Nature covers all the natural things you can think of. The physical world that we live in is a part of nature. It includes all forms of life: plants, birds, animals, and humans. It also includes other non-living entities. It is the biggest gift mankind can ever receive. Nature plays an important role in all our lives.
It provides us with the food we eat and the air we breathe. All those things which are essential for leading a healthy life are given to us by nature. There are no limits to its wonders. We live in a world that is filled with beauty like the deep oceans or the high mountains. Nature has been a source of inspiration for such a long time.
The works of poets, artists, and musicians reveal the glory of nature. This shows that our ancestors have always appreciated the bounty of nature. However, we have failed to do so in the present times. After misusing the natural resources, we have carelessly denied the damage we have done.
Without nature, life on Earth is beyond imagination. And looting its resources will only lead to our destruction. Therefore, we must realize how valuable nature is to us. And we must learn from our ancestors how to value and conserve nature before too much damage has been made.
Beauty of Mother Nature
Nature has granted us with order and purpose. There are no ends to its exceptional beauty. Nature did not evolve spontaneously. It took billions of years for its formation. The earth was just another planet revolving around the sun without any signs of life. Its temperature was extremely hot for any living being to survive. Lack of oxygen and water made it a completely different place. Gradually life originated on earth.
The evolution of life is another mystery. Research reveals the earliest signs of life were found in the deep-sea vents. Fossils that were found in the oceans were evident of this fact. However, it is not conclusive how and from where they first came from. We humans started living on this planet only recently.
Our survival is impossible without nature, and we must realize this. Nature has affected our lives on all grounds. It has promoted our psychological, economical, and emotional well-being. The earth we live in is surrounded by glorious mountains and glistening rivers.
Nature has its ways of surprising us. Every day we wake up in the morning to see the sun shining. This develops a more positive attitude in our minds. On our way to school or colleges, we can see green plants filled with vibrant flowers.
On picnics, we can truly enjoy nature’s company. Chirping birds returning to their nests, warm sunset, and the colourful sky bring us so much of happiness. We are lucky enough to admire nature’s wonderful creations. It has made our life all the more sustainable. Nature is the most valuable heritage we can offer to our upcoming generations.
Importance of Nature
In the absence of nature, the balance of our ecosystem is lost. Nature provides us with a lot of resources. Some of them hold significant commercial value for humans. Our daily essentials like air, water, fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes, come from nature.
It also helps us with our fuel requirements. Besides, it presents us with life-saving medicinal herbs. For centuries doctors have recommended thermal waters and sea baths as the source of treatments. Scientific studies reveal natural space benefits our physical and mental space of mind.
Nature is certainly therapeutic. It makes us feel at ease. Our body and mind align when they are in the presence of nature. People suffering from anxiety and depression often find peace in nature.
Forest covers are the natural habitat for wildlife. Thousands of species live here. Nature also includes other aspects like our atmosphere, weather, rainfall, etc. Nature is like a layer of protection against all kinds of threats and damage. Nature is all-powerful. It can protect us, but it also can wipe off the entire human race from this planet. The functioning of life depends upon the conservation of nature.
Conservation of Nature – Is it essential?
Nature is responsible for our advancements in science and technology. Despite the offerings of nature, it has been constantly abused and threatened. Man has exploited all the natural resources for his selfish means. Misuse of these resources has disturbed our ecosystem.
Burning of fossil fuels, pollution of the environment, deforestation, and global warming are some critical issues. Nature’s wrath can destroy us. Our ignorant activities have brought in climatic changes. Hazardous events like floods, droughts, earthquakes, and landslides are disastrous outcomes.
Cutting down of trees has resulted in soil erosion. This, in turn, has led to a decrease in the rainfalls. The underground water, which is a pure form of a water body is now on the verge of exploitation. Deforestation has destroyed habitats.
Thousands of species are now endangered, some of which are already extinct. We do not realize that by damaging nature, we are calling out our damage. There is a rising need to conserve nature and strike a balance in our disrupting ecosystem. And to do so, we must start acting now.
Deforestation must be prevented at all means. Air pollution can be checked by controlling the automobile exhaust. Water pollution due to industrial discharge must be stopped. We should invest in alternative forms of fuel like solar energy, wind energy, hydroelectric energy, etc.
Instead of exploiting our natural resources, we must try to replenish them. Planting more trees, avoiding misuse of water and other resources will help us create a better world to live in.
Nature is the best friend of humankind. It is high time we realize this. If we care about our survival, we need to restore the balance in nature. It is our utmost duty to create a space for us and our fellow creatures which are both safe and sound. Above all, we must be kind to each other. After all, we are all parts of nature.
