NIFT 2021 Exam Pattern has to be mandatorily referred by the candidate to know the comprehensive details of the exam paper. The NIFT institution supervises NIFT, a national level entrance test to provide admission in various Fashion and Technology disciplines, namely B.F.Tech, B.Des, M.F.M, M.Des and M.F.Tech. NIFT 2021 Exam Pattern
The candidates must go through the entire exam pattern as it enlists the entrance exam’s marking scheme. The official authority directs GAT, CAT., GD & PI interview rounds. The General Ability Test (GAT) shall be administered for B.Des and M.Des programmes. In order to assess the candidate’s intuitive ability, design ability and power of observation in concept development, the authority shall conduct the Creative Ability Test (CAT). This test’s main motive is to evaluate the candidate’s innovative and creative use of colour and illustration skills. Eligible Candidates attending the NIFT 2021 entrance test are supposed to refer the exam pattern before beginning the exam preparation:
- NIFT 2021 entrance exam shall be supervised through offline mode.
- The medium of the question paper is in English & Hindi language.
- The GAT question paper is composed of questions from several sections, specifically quantitative ability, English comprehension, communication ability, analytical ability, Current affairs and G.K.
- For B.Des programme, the number of questions is 100, and for M.Des programme, the number of questions is 120.
- For both these entrance tests, the time duration for exam completion is 2 and 3 hours.
GAT Exam
- The GAT exam shall be organized to provide admission into B.F.Tech, M.F.M, M.Des, and M.F.Tech programmes.
- The exam shall be supervised through offline mode.
- The time duration to complete the test shall be either 2 or 3 hours.
- The exam paper is composed of questions from diverse sections such as quantitative ability, analytical ability, communication ability and English comprehension, Current affairs and G.K., case study.
- The number of questions shall differ for each of B.F.Tech, M.F.M, M.Des, and M.F.Tech course.
- No negative marking system is applied for this exam.

Situation Test
Candidates clearing the entrance test are supposed to sit for the Situation test, GD and PI interview round. The situation test is conducted to evaluate the candidates’ innovative and material handling ability when they are provided with the material and a specific situation. The test shall be organized for 100 marks, and the total duration for test completion is 3 hours.
GD and PI Round
The GD round shall be a discussion regarding the designated case study, and duration shall be 15 to 20 minutes. This round is used to assess the candidates for which various factors are taken into consideration such as interpersonal skills, problem-solving approach, effective communication etc. Candidates attending the personal interview round shall be selected based on several factors such as Aptness for the course, creative thinking, general awareness and aptitude, career orientation, communication, overall achievement in co-curricular activities and academics etc.
