Short Paragraph on Discipline – 100 Words

Some people regard discipline as a chore. For me, it is a kind of order that sets me free to fly. ~Julie Andrews

Life is worth living with a little balance. Discipline is what keeps a person in control and helps him achieve great success. Abiding by certain rules and regulations, man carves his place in society. Parents and Teachers are the primary sources of learning discipline for children. To be able to work together with faculty and other students in school, one needs control. Anywhere you go, people will judge you on your demeanour. Anything that you do becomes more fun with rules. You won’t enjoy playing Basketball if you don’t follow all the rules. Similarly, to achieve something worthwhile in life, you will always have to pair hard work with discipline. A well-mannered, punctual person is valued more than someone who doesn’t know how to behave.

Long Paragraph on Discipline – 250 Words

“Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.”– Jim Rohn

Discipline is an integral part of a person’s life. Without a system or balance, one’s life becomes monotonous. The beginning of a basic understanding of regulation is right after we start walking and talking. How should one behave? What should one say? These are all questions that are answered by discipline. Schools, colleges, communities come with their own set of rules and procedures one needs abiding. To maintain and sustain one’s academic or career performance, one needs to follow a routine. The key to a more happy and satisfying life lies in hard work, determination, courage and discipline.

Setting up goals, following a regime, and creating your work pattern are just ways of attaining success. Control needs imbibing in a child’s psyche from the very beginning. If one starts brushing aside bad habits or behaviour, it gives birth to an array of wrongdoing and undisciplined life. The people who do not understand the rules of cricket are hardly able to enjoy the game. They don’t know why a wooden stick hits a ball, and people are running to catch it. The understanding of rules is what adds spice to our lives as well. Imagine going to school without a uniform and not having to follow any rules.

Won’t there be differences amongst students? The people who do exceptionally well in life often live by rules and follow them religiously. Being disciplined also makes us more considerate of others, as you understand what good behaviour is and what is not. To succeed in any pursuit, no matter how trivial it might seem, one needs to be highly disciplined. After all, success demands a price, which is an ongoing payment. To live a more stable and accomplished life, one must follow the rules.

To be able to spell both goals and success in the same sentence, you need discipline. The similarity between all the accomplished people in the world is that they are highly disciplined people. Your job, education or wealth won’t define you, but your genuine efforts will. What you become is an outcome of what you strive after.
