Rainy season comes after the summer season and falls from in June and lasts up to September. In this season, the clouds appear dark, and rain falls heavily. Sometimes, it rains incessantly, overflowing rivers and dams. Trees and plants grow well, and the forest breathes new and fresh air. The entire surrounding is lit, with the green cover providing a scenic picture. The animals too bask in the rain enjoying the water in abundance. Everywhere there are loud sounds of thundering and pattering of raindrops. The farmers in India depend upon the rainy season to begin their new harvest. They sow and cultivate their fields. This is the time they utilize the irrigation facility to the optimum. The climate cools down and provides relief from the scorching heat. Children get excited and step out wearing colourful raincoats and carrying umbrellas. They even sail paper boats in small ponds and streams.

After suffering from the blazing sun, this season provides relief and refreshing vibes. Dark clouds are a common sight during this season. Though it has a destructive nature and causes inconveniences, it is welcomed with great zeal and happiness. The monsoon arrives with thundering and lightening. Initially, there are showers and drizzles. Then heavy downpour starts. People and children take out their umbrellas, gumboots and raincoats to cover themselves.
Children seem very excited and thrilled to enjoy the cold raindrops falling on them and schools getting holidays on most of the days. They sail paper boats and play football in the rain. Many people make delicious food items like pakodas, bhajiya accompanied by tea. Farmers wait anxiously for the rain as it is crucial for crops. Monsoon season is a blessing to them as they depend upon agriculture for their living. Moreover, plants and trees breathe new life. Real nature comes to life. A lustrous green cover is witnessed, with colourful flowers blooming everywhere. Animals get blessed with abundant water to drink and bathe.
The monsoon is not devoid of disadvantages. Sometimes the blessing converts into a curse on account of natural calamities. Due to heavy downpour, many places get flooded, and people lose their land and homes. Crops are destroyed because of water-logging in the fields. In hilly areas, landslides have become common—several diseases such as malaria, dengue, jaundice etc. seen to occur. Even birds lose their home if trees are affected due to floods. In places where there is scanty rainfall, people experience severe droughts followed by famine. On the whole, despite having disadvantages, people every year pray and eagerly waits for the rain.
