PPSC 2022: The state of Punjab conducts the Combined Competitive Services Exam for the year 2022. Every year, Punjab Service Commission announces the number of vacancies in its various departments. It organizes competitive examination to find the deserving candidates for posts of Class-I and Class-II. PPSC 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Only those candidates who fulfil all the PPSC 2022 Eligibility criteria laid down by the government in the notification can go ahead and submit the filled-in application form.
- Nationality: Candidates must be a citizen of India
- Education Qualification: Candidates must possess a minimum Bachelor’s Degree. All candidates should have compulsorily studied the Punjabi language as a compulsory or elective subject during their matriculation.
- Age Limit: Minimum age limit: 21 Years. Maximum age limit: Below 37 years as on January 1st, 2020. The particular age limit criteria as per different categories are provided below:
- General Merit – 37 years
- Backward Classes – 40 years
- SC [Scheduled Castes] – years
- Number of Attempts: With new rules in place, the age limit bar has been further extended, and details are provided below:
- General Category – 6 attempts
- Ex-servicemen – 6 attempts
- Backward Classes and Scheduled Tribes – Totally 9 attempts.
- Scheduled Castes – Unlimited number of attempts allowed.
PPSC 2022 Application Form
The step by step process of PPSC 2022 Application form is given below
- Visit the official website – www.ppsc.gov.in
- All candidates have to first register themselves and obtain a login ID and password.
- Login with the newly created credentials.
- Go to the “Apply Online” section.
- Click on the application form for Punjab Civil Services Exam 2021.
- Enter all details in the form like name, address, contact details, educational qualifications, age and other entries.
- Upload scanned photograph and signature in correct formats.
- Pay the exam fee and submit the application form.
- Save/Download/ take a print copy of the submitted application form.

Procedure to Pay an Application Fee
- Visit the official website – www.ppsc.gov.in
- Download the system generated bank challan given under the fee payment section.
- Fill up the challan form correctly without any error.
- Take the challan and the requisite fee to any recognised SBI branch and pay the fees.
- All candidates need to remit fee after a day’s gap of submitting the application form.
- Obtain fee paid receipt acknowledgement from the bank.
- Enter the fee receipt number in the ONLINE application form and submit.
PPSC 2022 Admit Card
The commission will activate the link for downloading the admit card a few days before the actual commencement of the exam. All candidates who have successfully submitted their ONLINE application form can look forward to download the admit card from the official website. Step by step process to download the PPSC 2021 Admit Card is given below
- Visit the official website – www.ppsc.gov.in
- Locate the link that provides access to download the admit card.
- Enter details requested like registration number, application ID, name, and any other information asked.
- Enter CAPTCHA code if needed.
- Admit card shall be displayed.
- Check for correctness of data in the admit card.
- For any discrepancy, contact the helpline number of the commission immediately.
- Print/ Save the admit card.
All candidates are hereby notified to carry the admit card to the exam hall without fail, on the day of the exam. Those candidates who don’t have their admit card at the time of exam shall not be allowed to attempt the exam.
PPSC 2022 Exam Pattern
The PPSC 2022 consists of three rounds – Prelims, Mains and Personal Interview. The details of all the three rounds are explained below in greater depth:
Prelims Exam Pattern
- Preliminary Exam consists of two papers. Each paper consists of 200 marks.
- Both papers are of objective-based questions.
- Negative marking is not applicable.
- The papers are printed in both English and Punjabi [Gurumukhi] script.
- This is only a qualifying paper; marks scored in this paper shall not be counted for the final score.

Paper Pattern of Mains Examination
- The mains exam consists of seven papers totally.
- All papers are compulsory.
- All papers are of descriptive type.
- Each paper is carried out for three hours duration.
- Candidates can attempt the exam in either Punjabi or English language. The compulsory Punjabi language paper is an exception, though.

Personality Test
- Total marks for Personal interview round is 150 marks.

Paper II: Civil Services Aptitude Test
Candidates need to practice well for clearing this section of the exam. Important topics to be covered are:
- Numerical problems, numerical relations, magnitudes, percentage problems.
- Reading comprehensions, synonyms, antonyms, basic grammar skills.
- Good English communication
- Logical and mental reasoning, aptitude.
- Data sufficiency questions, data representation in graphs, charts and tables.
Main Examination Syllabus
- Compulsory English – Comprehension, precise writing, letter writing, essay writing, translation and grammar.
- Compulsory Punjabi – Consists of general aspects of the language like grammar, unseen passage, letter writing, translation and essay writing.
- For the Essay paper, candidates need to write 3 essays each of 50 marks. Total marks are 150 and candidates can attempt the paper in English / Punjabi language.
- General Studies Paper I – History of the world, Indian culture, socio religious reform movements, history of Punjab, Physical geography, geographical phenomena in the world, geography of Punjab, salient features of Indian society, social empowerment, human values, welfare schemes, health, education, human resources etc.
- General Studies Paper II – Indian constitution and polity, parliament and state legislatures, executive, judiciary, district administration, quasi judicial bodies, government policies, governance, transparency, ethics, values probity in governance, India and international relations.
- General Studies Paper III – Indian economy, major crops, public distribution system, food processing, land reforms, human resource development, statistics, analysis, graphs and diagrams, security, terrorism, cyber security.

Personality Test
- The interview round tests the personal skills and interpersonal capabilities of the candidate.
- Basic communication skills and the ability to handle tough and challenging situations shall be discussed upon.
- Critical thinking abilities, decision making possibilities and other related skills shall be tested upon.
PPSC 2022 Answer Key
The Punjab Civil Services provides a detailed analysis of the answer keys a few days before the actual results are displayed. The PPSC answer key help students to estimate the number of correct entries they have attempted in the exam and their probable ranking. A provisional list of answers followed by a finalised one shall be displayed on the official website.
PPSC 2022 Result
PPSC 2022 Result shall be displayed in the order of merit for the sake of convenience of students. Candidates can check their results on the official website by following these steps:
