Essay on Summer Season: The hottest part of the year from March to June with rising mercury levels and soaring temperatures is the summer season. Schools are shut during the extreme sunny months. Days are longer, and nights are shorter. This season produces various juicy fruits and vegetables and helps farmers prepare their lands for next cultivation. Ice creams, juices and cool drinks are generally consumed during the hot months. Fans and air conditioners/ coolers are always preferred during these months.

Summer season is the hottest season among all the seasons. Earth experiences longer days and shorter nights during the summer season. Also, a period where people take holidays and go on vacations and create numerous memories. In India, the season begins from March and ends in June. It is caused due to the tilt of the earth towards the sun. The days become longer and night shorter because the sun places itself directly over the internet. The season brings warm and dry winds like ‘loo’ which is harsh on the skin and can even induce sickness.

When we say summer, we are reminded of ice-creams and cold drinks that are enjoyed by several people. Schools and Universities have summer break, which proves advantageous for kids, children and adults to replenish their energy by visiting hill stations, resorts and beaches. Water sports like swimming, surfing, scuba-diving and water-polo are on the rise. Moreover, the modern Olympics are held during summer months every four years since 1896. People spent less time inside the home and explore the outdoors.

Physical activities like cycling, exercising, jogging and walking in the parks and gardens are carried out on a large scale. The film industry experiences surge in returns during summer months. Also, it is a successful season for releasing animated movies so that children can watch it with fun and enthusiasm. Several festivals are celebrated in India like Holi, Baisakhi, Bihu in different parts of India to mark the arrival of spring and harvest. Crops and fields are worshipped to offer respect and love to mother earth.

Sun God is also revered by performing dance, music, folk songs and processions. The houses and surrounding are decorated along with huge feasts. Families, friends and relatives come together and spend quality time with each other during festivals. Flowers bloom, animals rejoice for the abundance of food, birds reproduce, and nature rejuvenates. Though the season is warm, it creates a revival of good energy and a pleasant atmosphere.
