TANCET 2021 Exam Pattern is composed of the syllabus, marking scheme, question type, no. of questions, duration of exam, etc. Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test referred to as TANCET, is administered by Anna University, Chennai. This state-level entrance exam is directed on behalf of Tamil Nadu’s Government to provide the admission for candidates into M.Tech/M.E./ M.Plan/ M.Arch/ MBA/ MCA/ and lateral entry into MCA programme. Candidates qualifying in the exam are eligible to get seats in the university and various other governments and government-aided institutions. This article aims to provide all essential information related to the TANCET 2021 exam pattern.

TANCET Exam Pattern 2021

Anna University has released the exam pattern in the information brochure provision on its official website. Candidates can view the exam pattern via online mode. The admission seeking candidates in the engineering institutions of Tamil Nadu must qualify in the entrance exam directed by the university. Using TANCET 2021 exam pattern, appearing candidates can get the syllabus, marking scheme, exam duration, etc. TANCET 2021 Hall Ticket shall be made accessible from 5th March 2021 via online mode on the website. Candidates are also expected to show the hall ticket on the examination day to the exam authority, and it must also be brought for the admission process.

TANCET 2021 Exam Pattern

The university provides the exam pattern to help the candidates prepare for the examination. The appearing candidates can go through the entire details of the exam pattern in the below section.

  • The entrance test shall be supervised via offline mode, i.e. pen paper-based mode.
  • The exam is planned to be organized on 20th & 21st March 2021.
  • 2 hours shall be provided to solve the question paper.
  • The question paper medium is available in the English language.
  • The test paper comprises of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
  • 1 mark is allocated for every question.
  • 1/3 marks shall be reduced for every wrong answer.
  • For ME/M.Tech/M.Arch/M. Plan programmes, PART I & Part II must be mandatorily attended. PART III contains questions from the stream chosen by the candidates during the registration process.

TANCET Syllabus 2021

The syllabus is formulated separately for each of the courses. The university prepares the syllabus for every course. The syllabus for various courses are listed in the below section:

  • MCA: Topics include Quantitative ability, Analytical reasoning, Logical reasoning, Computer awareness, Verbal ability and Basic sciences.
  • MBA: Topics include Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning.
  • ME/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan:
    • PART I: Engineering Mathematics
    • PART II: Basic Engineering & Sciences
    • PART III: As per the stream chosen (Opted Subject).

TANCET 2021 Preparation Tips

Here are few tips and tricks for candidates appearing for the TANCET 2021 entrance exam this year:

  • Once the exam pattern is published, note down the syllabus and pattern accurately to formulate a study schedule.
