WBJEE 2021 Exam Pattern, Marking Scheme, Total Marks, Mode

WBJEE 2021 Exam Pattern shall be published along with the WBJEE 2021 Information bulletin. West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board administers WBJEE. It is a state-level entrance exam organised for candidates seeking admission in UG Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture Courses at various Private and Government Colleges situated at West Bengal. WBJEE 2021 Exam Pattern

The candidates can use the exam pattern of WBJEE 2021 for entrance exam preparation. Since the exam pattern provides all the details related to the exam, it is of great use for candidates to prepare well and score good marks.

  • The examination shall be supervised through offline mode, i.e. OMR response sheet shall be provided.
  • Questions are covered from mathematics, physics and chemistry subjects.
  • The exam duration to solve the paper is two hours.
  • The examination shall be handled in two sessions, i.e. 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM for Paper 1 (Mathematics) and 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM for Paper 2 (Physics & Chemistry).
  • The question paper is made up of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) containing four optional answers.
  • One mark is allocated for category I questions, and two marks are allocated for category II questions.
  • Candidates are allowed to use either a black or blue ballpoint pen to mark the answers. If the candidate does improper marking, then that answer shall be considered wrong.

WBJEE 2021 Marking Scheme

The marking scheme of WBJEE 2021 examination is clearly represented in the below tabulation:

Correct answer bags 1 mark.
-1/4 (25% negative) marks shall be reduced for the wrong answer.
Marking more than 1 answer for the same question shall
be given a negative mark.
Zero marks for the unattended questions.
Category IIOne of the four options is right.
Correct answer bags 2 marks.
-1/2 (25% negative) marks shall be reduced for the wrong answer.
Marking more than 1 answer for the same question shall
be given a negative mark.
Zero marks for the unattended question.
Category IIIOne or more options shall be right.
Correct answer bags 2 marks.
Providing both correct and wrong response shall be provided with zero marks.
The mark provided for the partly correct answer is
2 x (no. of right answers marked / total no. of right answers)
Zero marks for the unattended question.

WBJEE Exam Instructions

Candidates appearing for the WBJEE exam must adhere to the instructions laid by the exam conducting authority:

  • Candidates are asked to look into the exam pattern and WBJEE 2021 syllabus without missing any details before commencing the exam preparation.
  • Candidates are recommended to be present at the exam centre one hour prior to exam commencement.
  • It would be better for the appearing candidates to be available at the exam centre a day before the examination to avoid any sort of inconvenience on the exam day.
  • Electronic devices/ gadget are strictly prohibited inside the exam centre.
