XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) is conducted by Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) on behalf of XAMI. XAT Syllabus 2021 consists of questions from Quantitative Ability, English Language & Logical Reasoning, Decision Making and General Knowledge. The exam offers admissions into management courses by Xavier affiliated colleges. Candidates can check the details of XAT 2021 Syllabus through this article.

XAT Syllabus 2021

Candidates must check the XAT 2021 syllabus to prepare better for the examination. The Syllabus is given below:

Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation:

The topics include Arithmetic, Functions, Geometry, Mensuration – 2D and 3D, Probability, Algebra, Graphs, Heights & Distance, Speed & Distance, Statistics, Direction Sense & Time, Table and Data Interpretation – Web Diagram, Variation, Allegations and Mixtures, etc.

English Language & Logical Reasoning:

Para Completion and inference, Jumbled Paragraph, Verbal Logic, Grammar, fill in the Blanks, Analogies or Reverse Analogies, Critical Reasoning, Vocabulary and Arguments, Reading Comprehension, Summary Questions, Para Jumble, Logical Completion of Idea.

Decision Making:

Topics like Sets, Logical reasoning, Mathematics, Decision Making, Blood Relations, Pie Chart, Line Charts, Venn Diagram, Coding & Decoding, Numeric Grid, Family Tree, Clocks, Seating Arrangement, Semi-Quantitative topics, Calendars, Puzzles, Series, Bar Graphs, Statement Conclusions.

General Knowledge:

Includes Government and Politics, Science, Famous Personalities, History, Geography, Awards and winners, Business, Important happenings around the World, Politics, Business, Literature, , Economy, Current affairs.

Essay Writing:

Candidates are asked to write an essay on a topic prescribed by the officials. The essay topic will be general.

XAT Exam Pattern 2021

XAT Exam pattern 2021 will have two paper: Paper 1 & Paper 2. Paper 1 will be 72 questions related to topics like Decision making, Verbal and Logical Ability and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation. Paper 2 will be of 25 questions related to general knowledge.

The exam will be conducted in offline mode i.e. (pen and paper-based test). The time for paper 1 is 170 minutes & for paper 2 is 35 minutes. Candidates check the exam pattern from the given table:

XAT 2021 Preparation Tips

Some XAT 2021 preparation tips for candidates are given below:

  • Candidates must go through the syllabus and make a timetable accordingly.
  • Practise old question paper to know the most frequent questions.
  • Use flashcards, sticky notes to memorise better.
  • Drink enough water and be hydrated.
  • Organize a study group.
  • Study from the best sources, make use of libraries.
  • Follow a healthy regime and revise regularly.
